Insanity, 11 Sep 2024That's insane purposely having such expensive phone torture like that just to prove it. People have been saying this for almost 20 years now. It's as dumb now as it was then. Reviewers are here to tell us how a device performs, one of those metrics is durability.
They crash cars to test their crash safety, they abuse phones to test their abuse resistance.

Need a bend test like Jerry rig everything...
No one ever said that foldables are fragile... its more about screen being stuck in 2016(when tech for foldables got ready for mass manufacturing) even if we already developed new ways to create tough and scratch resistant layered glass that can bend without having super delicate plastic top layer that you can scratch with your finger if you touch it too hard, but none of company want to invest in it as first they need to make money from tools they made for old technology, that funny enough is not really that complicated as it was more about finding way to cut costs as much as possible, as amoled in it self is flexible and it was more about putting it all together.

I am talking 5x or more, the ones that digital zoom can't compete with. Will Foldables eventually have that too? Sure. But slab phones will have 10x or so baseline at that point

The Vivo x Fold 3 Pro has a periscope zoom lens. Yes, it is possible to put a periscope lens into a thin body.
I thought the PIXEL PRO FOLD IS THE BEST PHONE IN THE WORLD for you guys ..
yes im still salty because you did not approve my comments on pixel pro fold paid article.
I watched video and want buy this phone. Forget Apple , this phone is real innovation

Foldables are thin, yes, but that means they can't fit a periscope camera inside, which has been useful so many times I wouldn't go back to a phone without one again. If you want an even bigger screen a Foldable is nice, but for me who plays games and videos on his phone, the unfolded format isn't ideal anyways, so I'd rsther have a big slab style phone
This Phone looks amazing, also quite thin and stylish.
V3 makes the Samsung ZF6 look like a 1st generation Foldable product, much like comparing the Tecno Phantom 1st Gen with Original Fold.
It is such a shame on Samsung Mobile Division Mr Roh, allowing the Fold to drop from the top to the bottom of the ladder by refusing to change and innovate, we all know what happen to Nokia, Blackberry when they fail to innovate thinking they are invincible; maybe this is the end of the Fold series if they keep flogging the dead horse and expecting to win the race with their tiny iteration. Unlike Apple there are no competition if you on IOS unlike Android; every single other manufacturer e.g Honor, Huawei, Google has beaten Samsung
outright & Oneplus Fold upcoming next gen will do to without a doubt.
It is a crime to let it drop to the bottom!

And after seeing F6 switched to V2 which seems like 2027 Sammy in hand. Never has any issues with any of screens and last two gens F4 and F5 inner film was off on 1st day out of the box. So use one. And then you can share your opinion based on your experience not some waffles

Same thing can be said to you, you're complaining about me criticizing. The cognitive dissonance is real.

Only thing i need to do for... morethat sounds cool but I can't trust myself man, I'm quite careful with my tech and all but mistakes CAN happen. Especially when I go out all the time and hit the gym as well, I can't take the risk. Seeing that the screen goes down when pressure is applied is enough to skyrocket my anxiety.
Pacifist, 24 Aug 2024you say 200k folding actions represent 7 years? that would be 78 folding action per day. a bit... moreyes, a bit too much but, it is a safe margin. because we open and close in non-ideal forces sometimes through the day. so, we as users open and close more harshly compared to lab test equipment. it is more important to keep it in good condition for many years after the warranty expires. take flip form factor into account, too. flip phones unfold 3-4x more than folding phones.

xPandamon, 24 Aug 2024Nope. Foldables are still a worse version of a phone and a tablet and that will not change any... moreThe outer display is just exactly the same as the display of a normal slab phone and you get an additional inner display that works like a tablet. It's now as thin and as light and as durable as a slab phone. Why would you get a slab phone over this?
