yalim, 19 Aug 2024ZTE's update policy is like we were in 2010. 1 major update at best. they don't care... moreWhere can I put a like?
I can also only warn potential customers about the quasi non-existent software support of NUBIA. Their support told me that the Z50s Pro from last year will not receive a Android update. Security updates are also very, very rare, mine is dated February 2024.
USERS SHOULS AVOID NUBIA BECAUSE OF MISSING SOFTWARE SUPPORT !
Nick Tegrataker, 19 Aug 2024While I do admit that ZTE is trying to do something new here - Unfortunately its camera setup ... moreWhich Xiaomi or BBK phones are you referring to? The z60 ultra and ultra leading version launched in China for the same price as the Xiaomi 14 base version and Oneplus 12 and cheaper than both internationally and that is competitive camera wise (they have by far the best lowlight ultrawide performance of any phone launched in 2024 at any price point). This launched in a different price category where some competitors are launching with 50mp 8mp 2mp combos so the camera hardware is not really behind the competition from Xiaomi, Vivo or Oppo at the same price level. Having said that I do agree the 8mp telephoto is disappointing as it is the same as last year's model. They should have given some camera hardware upgrade
While I do admit that ZTE is trying to do something new here - Unfortunately its camera setup is anemic all things considered by the 2024 standard.
The benefit of being able to shoot 12.5/50MP at a native 35mm equiv. FL is offset by the fact that it uses a sensor that is over twice as small as what some of its competitors use, the telephoto camera is pretty much the same as the one Huawei P20 Pro had back in ***2018***, and it doesn't stand out when it comes to specs of the UWA camera, either. Yes Z60S Pro is less expensive than Xiaomi or BBK's latest offerings, but is it actually competitive? Not really.
Nubia will not provide any major android update on the global Version of the phones, just security updates, be warned
ZTE's update policy is like we were in 2010. 1 major update at best. they don't care about customers. why should we care about ZTE?
Anonymous, 18 Aug 2024Sounds a quite attractive deal especially considering this is snapdragon 8Sgen3 price range. S... moreYou have NO idea the price of the Snapdragon 8gen 3, all you have is site guestimates!
So without repeating verbatim what such estimate are you're a parrot!
ZTE has more than enough money to source the 8Gen3 however it's likely their working on new devices better suited for the 8Gen4 such as the next Nubia gaming line and early product release later this year or early 2025.
pl2rts, 18 Aug 2024Europeans get totally ripped of with this again. 169 dollars more in Europe over US price. Mi... moreUS prices do not include sales tax which is called VAT in Europe and VAT is around 20% in Europe (varies slightly by country). European prices include VAT which adds around 20% to the price. In the US the listed price is not the price you actually pay. You have to pay sales tax on top of the listed price and that varies by state. The European price without VAT would be €557 which is not that different than the US price. Just about $45 more in Europe but I think that's acceptable given that it's generally more expensive to do business in Europe
The spec sheet says longxi glass. Google gives me no information on this.

For 600€ with the 70€ off isn't that bad, I'm curious to see how it performs to see how it compares to the Z60U Leading
No IP68 rating is unacceptable.
Also, less important but I hate the texture of frosted finishes, so that case would need replacing.
Europeans get totally ripped of with this again. 169 dollars more in Europe over US price.
Might as well not go to European markets when they rip us off so much. I would like that people would understand and dont buy their product as they do something like this.
If they can have the price 169 dollars cheaper in US then they can have it in Europe too as this is Asian brand with same conditions as any other
This is basically Z50S Pro from last year with no real changes, i hope nubia doing ok, cause their Z60 Ultra is a top notch (but without a notch hehe) and i want to see more phones like this
I'd grab any Nubia if they were better with software and update policy. I like their phones design and specs.
I love these look of this phone. I just wish ZTE was better with software and the updates.
Also I currently have an S23 Ultra with the same SOC 😂
Minu, 18 Aug 2024I honestly don't get the purpose of implementing a smaller sensor for telephoto lenses. I... moreSize of module.
At this FL, you do not need periscope type if sensor is smaller. .
notafanboy, 18 Aug 20248MP tele... They are taking the piiss right? I'm sorry but that's just unacceptable ... moreThe price matters more imo, not the name. This phone has Pro in the name but is more like the Oneplus 12R. It has an 8 gen 2 and is priced at 570 dollars. Getting an 8 gen 2 with 2 usable cameras is a huge thing imo.
The Poco F6 Pro has the same sized main cam with an 8MP UW cam and a 2 MP macro cam, same thing can be said of the Oneplus 12R.
If you're going to say the 8MP telephoto is bad what about those UW cams lol, Samsung still has a 10 MP telephoto cam and most people are fine with it. What that means is that a telephoto cam can be cheaped out on because it doesn't take a pic of a huge scene, it takes a shot of a small scene. So because of that, UW cams might look HORRIBLE at that size, but telephoto cams are more "acceptable". Look at the X80 Pro, its 5x was a 1/4.4" 8 MP cam, yet it's not as bad of a camera as the same sensor being on a UW cam. Judge the cam for yourself, GSMarena has the samples.
I think ZTE made a very sensible decision, they give you the choice of having a telephoto cam unlike let's say Nothing who don't have one at all. So let's say you just REALLY want to take a telephoto shot, you can do it.
Hope it makes sense.
