Anders, 22 Jul 2024Well they didn't actually call it "plus" but there was a higher clocked version... moreOh.. That's rename of Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy. It's just gimmick (just a tiny overclock) not like Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 improvisation. Just look at the benchmark of Z50S Pro.
I think 8+ Gen 2 has a little bit higher temperature and power consumption than the predecessor.

So this is basically a Z50S Pro with two-way satellite connectivity. I'm not sure if we even have fully working satellite connectivity support at this stage.

Why can't I find it on Qualcomm's database... moreThey (Qualcomm) stopped 8+ Gen 2 official naming as they worked a deal with Samsung as 8+ Gen 2 was named as 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy which is certainly not. As you know, 855 is first released and then 855+ after 6 months, in same way, 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy is 8+ Gen 2 released for other phones in 6 months from launch of 8 Gen 2. But now Qualcomm is stopping this by calling "+" ones as Leading Version/Accelerated Version/Overclocked Version. As soon as Samsung will stop shipping Snapdragon on Ultra phones, Qualcomm will go back to 6 months + release.

It looks like Rotated Camera Island of Oppo Find X7 Series & Similar to Camera Island of Redmi A3 Series. If I was using this design, I would have added 5 Cameras making it worth it. But people won't mind cuz they can skip this one and buy 8 Gen 4 device and new ones can buy this one with Satellite Feature coming in VFM Price.

The Z50S Pro had the 8+ Gen 2, so if the Z60S Pro only has the regular 8 Gen 2 then it's a downgrade. Definitely should have the 8 Gen 3. The Gen 4 will be out in a few months!

The only phone where having an ultra wide camera makes sense. Every other phone has a very wide main (basically ultrawide in real camera equivalent) and an even wider ultrawide lol.
