Moto G85 quietly unveiled in Europe Comments

I like Motorola a lot, use Edge 30 Pro as my daily driver, plenty Moto Devices in the family as well. What I cannot understand at the moment: what are different product families good for, if a manufacturer stops to differentiate? We have the Edge family in the premium segment and we have (had) G family for the best price-performance, non nonsense design etc.
Now, G85 gets the very same form factor as Edge 30 Fusion/Edge 40/Edge 40 Neo/Edge 50 Fusion etc. - just paired with an ugly processor (for 2024). Should not the G family be exactly the other way round? Take Moto G100 or more recent Moto G72 - nice performance for moderate price. This is what G family used to be. Not anymore?
Instead of 695-class processor in a beautiful body, I would rather see a G72 or G84 body paired with some previous gen Edge performance (plus decent camera). Should still be possible at the same price as G85. This would also help to better differentiate between product classes (Edge Vs G).

Insult for customers in Europe. More than 300€ for sd 695 is a nonsense. Chinese manufacturers become greedy. For about 300€ it is possible to get Samsung a55, Nothing phone 2a, Pixel 7a, etc. Only Poco devices are okey from Chineses.
