Plus the screen resolution is lower in parts of the display where there are under display cameras, so you know exactly where they are.

If this is the Zfold 6, I will wait for the Zfold 7. There is no reason to drop that kind of cash for no real upgrade from the Z fold 5...

floydb1982, 16 Jun 2024Making a phone thin is a terrible idea which makes for a tiny low energy battery like 2,000 mA... morethan is where titanium and silicon-carbon comes in...
magic v2 is sooo slim, yet has bigger battery capacity...
what is that? another free pass for samsung?
          ...
though, i like the design of fold6 here, esp flatter and sharper frames... and underdisplay selfie camera on external display... like those designs of zte nubia on their regular phones...

You want a thick phone not a thin phone.

Someone said is just a toy! My fold 4 was very handy in the last almost 2 years. Almost replace my laptop on to go. Yes, the hinge sucks as at the moment in with samsung to be fixed(for second time). The only throwback regarding is the waiting time as I don`t have it for 2 weeks. Last time they kept only the motherboard and back cover. Overall very happy with it

Ther should be at least 4:3 but that means the outer screen has to be 25:9.
In my opinion as fold user 22:9 is probably the best compromise between the two screens.

Misfit2Fields, 14 Jun 2024Boo, I was looking forward to a more drastic change. No reason for that outer screen to still... moreBIG reason for it to be narrow and not wide like a S24U ... one handed use:
                            rapid navigation,
                            rapid information lookup,
                            rapid information manipulation,
rapid application navigation, data manipulation, and OneUI navigation.

The wider the screen the slower for one-handed use and let's face it, the average hand size amongst men and women is NOT that large.

                            openai:
" The average hand size can vary based on factors like ethnicity, genetics, and geographical region. However, to provide a general idea:

                            1. **Men**: The average hand size for men can range from about 7.6 to 8.6 inches (19.3 to 21.9 cm) in length and 3.3 to 4.0 inches (8.4 to 10.2 cm) in width.

                            2. **Women**: For women, the average hand size tends to be slightly smaller, typically ranging from 6.6 to 7.6 inches (16.8 to 19.3 cm) in length and 2.9 to 3.6 inches (7.4 to 9.2 cm) in width.

These measurements are based on various studies and anthropometric data collected over the years. Hand sizes can vary significantly even within these ranges due to individual differences."

enlost, 14 Jun 2024That actually sounds possible, they wait for other companies to do it and then they do it and ... moreThe point of a narrow outter screen for so many Z Fold generations was for rapid one-handed use.

Samsung established this market segment and it allowed fo quick use and fitting in nice to the breast pocket of a suit, just look at the CEO the many times he's pulled out a Z Fold in public. Remember he's a petite lil guy with small hands so one-handed use is paramount.

Now a slightly wider outer-screen yet not too tall makes it look nice.

I'm hoping OneUI 6.1.x or 6.2 is sped up a lot ... especially with screenshot capture: I'd like the super slow animation to be rid of! Sometimes you need to caputre the screen quickly and the slow animation misses the mark too often.
