My uncle has A Redmi Note 8 Pro. I had a look at it. It was full of ads. I don't understand how he could bear it. I installed AdGuard Pro but it didn't work for built in apps.
Does this new one have that too. I hope it's only details leak and not the battery...

No LTPO screen with similar or better screen specs than the Xiaomi 14 is a deal breaker for me because of battery drain.

justasmile, 05 Jun 2024Kinda ironic since the Dimensity 1000+ of the K30 Ultra is worse than the 865.I'm talking about the last few models. They have given up on the gaming model they used to have so that's the approach they are currently taking. In any case, it's always been cheaper than the pro so is positioned lower. In the future who knows but for the k80至尊版 is still positioned lower with the main focus on performance. Price determines the positioning

Such great specs with a garbage OS. Happens every year. Xiaomi couldn't make the best mobile OS in 15 years and still people have to install custom ROMs to get good experience. This company isn't capable of making good software.

They should introduce the 3x camera to the non-Pro K80 too. Since that's the phone that will be released internationally as the POCO F7 Pro. They could easily dominate the premium phone range just by that, even if that makes the phone 50 bucks more expensive.

And they rebrand to poco f7 pro with redmi k80 sd8gen 3 specs. We got sd8 gen 3(poco f7 pro) with higher price than sd8 gen 4(redmi k80 pro) from chinese market.. :/

agreed on price. Redmi is now MY value king in terms 3dmark extreme stress scores vs price. However, this K80P will have the newest, flagship chipset, price going to be out of whack compared to existing Redmi's like Turbo 3, K60 Ultra, K70

justasmile, 04 Jun 2024Having the K Ultra which is not much better than the Pro is just confusing.The k ultra is not supposed to be better than the pro. The ultra is always positioned below the pro in China so in Xiaomi's eyes it's supposed to be slightly weaker than the pro model. It sits between the k70 and the k70 pro in terms of pricing. Xiaomi doesn't even use the word ultra and Xiaomi view the pro model as the top model overall. A Chinese word is used that could be translated in a number of ways e.g. Extreme/ultra. The idea is 'ultra/extreme performance' but not ultra in other ways. It is the performance focused phone in the k series and that's how it's marketed. The pro model is always the most expensive and top model in the series in terms of allround configuration. The k70 ultra will be worse than the k70 pro and the k80 pro will definitely be a step up. The k70 ultra though will be cheaper than the k70 pro so it should be worse. Even in China Xiaomi use the English word 'ultra' for the Xiaomi 14 ultra but they don't use the English word 'Ultra' for the k70 extreme edition
