I can imagine a watch FE might be about using the existing case and most of the same hardware (e.g. it would lack the temperature sensor that was put on the watch 5 onwards and perhaps sapphire display) but I wouldn't put it out of reason that they might use their newer SoC to power the device - similar to how they've re-released the Tab S6 lite twice now, each time with a newer SoC.

If "same internal" makes Samsung extend the support of the older model, they should've also extend the software update of Samsung A33 and A53 because Samsung A25, which uses the same chipset, will got updates until Android 18. The same goes to Samsung A23 4G and A05s. But nope, they don't.
On a flip side, this is good for all the Galaxy Watch 4 owners. It's likely Samsung will keep updating it since internals are the same as with "new" Watch FE.
If previous leaks about ugly 7 series are true will keep my 6 classic.
