It's an arm chi... moreNope, its a rebranded AMD Ryzen 7 7840U marketed specifically to be used in gaming handhelds. So its an x86 laptop APU (AMD's marketing term for an SoC) being used for these handhelds. Using an x86 processor in a phone is not a good idea, see how badly Intel Atom where it was either underpowered or ran hot or usually both and apps just did not work for it because Android apps are coded for and meant for ARM SoCs. AMD has an ARM license but they do not make consumer arm CPUs and what they have made in regard to ARM is very behind closed doors. If Ryzen had done badly there was a possibility they would have had to pivot to making arm-based Opterons (AMD's old server CPUs)

I understand the hatred towards Asus, but as a consumer one should want the ROG Ally X to be very successful because if it is very successful, an 80-Wh battery may become a standard for handheld PCs. That will be great for consumers.

The ROG Ally X will use a different position for the SD card slot. It remains to be seen if it resolves the issue, though.

OLED displays have no blooming, have a much higher contrast ratio, and have better uniformity. Also, OLED displays have wider viewing angles. LCD displays don't look crisper. Generally, LCD displays are brighter, but that's pretty much the only thing they have as an advantage over OLED displays in terms of image quality. Overall, OLED displays have much better image quality. If everything is the same, a brighter screen is better, but it's not the case.

The image says 2nd generation, but if I'm not mistaken they said that Ally X should be considered 1,5 Gen.
