The M series chips are based on ARM architecture. They are paid by every company that uses it. What you mean is Qualcomm is competing with Apple.

Arm is in the building and its here to stay. So incredible I had no idea this would happen this soon (2024). Arm competing with Apple (M3), Intel, and AMD and cheaper and hella faster npu. Microsoft has just leveraged its repeated similar surface products that didn't show major improvements on the inside.

FatShady, 22 May 2024they got their prices from apple...Not quite as bad though, since the starting price is fairly reasonable and 16 GB RAM is included in the base config, unlike Apple. Still expensive but you get a more usable machine for the same money (and you can probably upgrade the SSD yourself, too, or even add an additional one

I'm more interested in the Surface Pro tablet. Interestingly, they're both cheaper than the previous Intel-powered predecessor. In the case of the Surface Pro, it costs the same as the discounted i7 Surface Pro 9 WiFi. It also costs $300 to $400 less than the Surface Pro 10 for Business, regardless of the Intel Core Ultra CPUs.
