If they make an 8" one I'll buy it. Maybe even twice!

Google needs to come up with an OS that's a mix between Android and ChromeOS for their tablet. Or maybe just use ChromeOS, because stock Android—especially after A12—doesn't seem capable at all for tablet use.

Funnily enough, their old Nexus tablets seemed more "tablet-friendly" than this one.

hentai, 26 Apr 2024you are right. Until Google works on that, you are better off with Windows tab or at the very ... moreUntil Google works on that? I don't even think that Google takes the tablet market seriously. Heck, I don't even think that they care anymore. This is not the first time Google itself ever tries to compete with iPad.
Hardware wise, they already have released their own tablets several times since the Nexus era. Heck, before this Pixel Tablet, they've released 2 other Pixel Tablets, which is Pixel C (running on Android) and Pixel Slate (running on ChromeOS). Both are failed on the market.
Software wise, they have released 2 OS versions specifically to optimize the Android experience on a tablet: Android 3.0 Honeycomb and Android 12L. But ngl, other than the new taskbar on Android 12L, I don't see much improvement on it. It still s--ks.

You can get 2 in 1 laptops that can morph into a tablet. Just avoid ChromeBooks. They're slow, awful OS, based on Android so no ".exe" files and overall just a pain.

Also, tablets are great devices for media consumption and I like your out of the box opinion. Drawing with a standalone tablet is good but nothing really beats a desktop and a 12-16 inch graphic tablet display from XP-Pen or Wacom.

You can install Windows on an Android tablet, it takes a lot of work, however.

For lay people, Android tablets are relegated to be pacifier for children because Google simply refuse to optimize Android for tablets, resulting in not many developers bother to optimize their apps for tablets.

Mark my words, by next year or two, Google won't even bother refreshing the Pixel Tablet. Google just doesn't see Android as tablets.

Tablets are eWaste, elExcept for the Pixel line which can at least have GrapheneOS installed. The rest either don't get much support: Lenovo or are full of bloatware: Samsung.

Instead, tablet market in my country filled with tablets that runs crappy upscaled OS (read: Android and iPadOS). Something like Microsoft Surface is ironically not available in my country. Importing it would inflate the price that it wouldn't makes sense to buy one.
I don't need great battery life on a tablet. I just need a tablet that can run desktop apps. That's what a tablet supposed to be — a lite version of laptop. Microsoft did the right thing with the release of Microsoft XP Tablet PC Edition back then. But ironically, people prefer something like the iPad. I hate the fact that most people only use their tablet for something boring like content consumption or drawing.

They're not small like a phone and not too clunky like a laptop. It's a mix of both. OnePlus and Xiaomi and sometimes Apple make good tablets. This is not.
