It's definitely not the first, we had similar things from galaxy S4 zoom, to (itel infinix tecno) sister brands. The first one used that for optical zooming, the second one was mostly (if not completely) gimmick. What Huawei used here is more sensible than what other brands used while it is still more gimmick that practical.
