But in the end the phone will be priced around 500 euro. That price doesn't seems light to me!

Are people taking photoshoots of film actresses or what? Why do they need 200 megapixels in every single phone?

And people are using high speed 4G and 5G too so chip speed alone doesn't determine the speed of a phone. And android (and even ios) stopped lagging long ago.

Rucci, 21 Apr 2024Better go for Pixel 8 on sale. The A-serie make no sense anymore. The base factory-sealed Pixel 8 is priced at $549.95 for the 8/128 model. The 256GB version of the Pixel 8a will cost a little more than that. There has never been a 256GB version for the Pixel 'a' series before. It's great.

Just my opinion, 21 Apr 2024So you are saying it is okay to pay this price point just for - "the best cameras eve... moreYou are obviously a person who understands the value of money very well. Go and buy Scamsung A35 for only $399.99, which is also literally a brick and offers mediocre cameras, mediocre LagUI and top-notch flagship performance thanks to the Exynos 1380 chip. You will obviously be a very smart buyer.

8a's codename is Akita, which means it is for the Japanese market.
There, Google Pixel TV commercials are aired like crazy every day.
It's common to see even teenagers using the Pixel 7a.
Their only options are Apple or Google.

I don't it. Google isn't making a case for it's A series. You have the pixel 9, 9 Pro, and 9 Pro XL coming out later this year. What case is there to make for the Pixel 8a? Cos by the time the new 9 series comes out you can bet the regular Pixel 8 will be discounted by various third party sellers to around the same price as the P8a. This happened with the P7 series as well. I remember early this year seeing Amazon and other network discounting the P7 to basically the same price as the P7a. Heck, VOXI even sold it a bit cheaper for a month till stock ran out.

Dont want to be rude but google would best thing to do if they completely redesign their phones.
This thing any any other pixel series are awfully bad looking phones.

Got the S23 128 GB for 600 $. Standby is fantastic! 7a drained the battery really fast. Snapdragon + TSMC = love.

More low sales. If you put more price with the device that has limited in availability. Men not all peps can recognize this brand. Yeah Im an avid of pixel device long time ago but please make your store available in all countries.

"the best cameras ever seen in an affordable"
haha yes pixels have the best cam u can get on mid-range but for that price point you are better off with last year's pixel 7a or 8 which you can get for less (on sale) these days since the cam cameras will be more or less the same

"device offers incredible extremely timely software updates,"
again all these things u can get with the two devices I mention

"and offer top-notch flagship performance that will also be packed with Google's wonderful technology thanks to the Tensor Gen 3 chip"
top-notch flagship performance? hardcore pixel fanboy calling tensor g3 top-notch flagship performance, even if 8a were to come with new software features, which pixel 8 will likely be updated 2, bruh they are basically the same chip there is nothing 8a will be capable of that 8 isn't. why am I even arguing with a fan boy

Ren, 21 Apr 2024Depends how you look at it if it makes sense. But what does not make sense is to release it... moreExactly. Pixel 8a could have been launched last year in October itself at $500 (and would be at sale around $400 now goinf by the trend for other Pixels - i.e. Pixel 8 pro down to $800 from $1000, and Pixel 8 down to $550 from $700).

I would also argue that Google should launch at more reasonable prices and maintain those prices for longer. For example, Pixel 8 and 8 Pro could have been launched at $600 and $900 respectively (given that they are already selling at lower means that these price points were feasible). At the same time, Pixel 8a could have been launched at $450. Or rather, there wasnt any need for 8a; Pixel 7 could have dropped down to $450 officially (it was frequently on sale at this price point since March last year).

Just the pixel 7a with few new colors, slightly improved battery capacity with aslo improved speed of 27W WHICH is still slow in 2024, a slightly faster (compared to tensor gen 2) Chip but still s*cks compared to other competition, Surely the battery runtimes will be as bad as pixel 7a if not identical, same with cameras.

still your typical 90Hz FHD+ touchscreen ( yes Pixel phones are praised for their incredibly responsive and fluid user experience but still for the price no), 8GB of RAM( which is a good start for a mid-range but for it to be the only RAM configure no-no), 128GB of storage ufs 3.1 (Don't even get me started, it's 2024) so in other word Google build the same phone twice, tweak few things then marked it at a higher price
