Windows OS banned from China? That would be amazing, for them. Linux would benefit exponentially and I'm all for China joining in on Linux as it is safe, efficient, and a lot more performant. But banning Intel and AMD is not a good move.

If they can develop their own chip well and also produce cheaper commercial chips for the rest of the market then it's win-win for us. Also chips is like the best spying and hacking tool for NSA's PRISM program so countries should actually to come with their own tech.

They only got to license Zen 1 and maybe Zen+ (which I can say from experience was not that great an upgrade).

Actually, all the current market AMD & Intel processors have this "Management engine" running within them, and from the information gathered from specific links online, it runs Linux, and runs at kernel level -3, which means it can access any hardware or software component whatsoever without any notice to user, even when the device is off. It was never necessary to have a management engine in a processor.
Today, neither AMD nor Intel agrees to make its contents open source, or to remove it, also making it tougher by each generation, to disable it. This makes it suspicious.
If true, it means everything you do on a PC/ phone, could be privacy-compromised.
Its creator was once allegedly approached by a secret team, & some no-disclosure agreements were signed. The creator says he regrets it.
The only thing is, it looks probable but isn't verified by anything substancial...
