Anonymous, 16 Feb 2024They used to charge $600 to replace back glass of pro max. I dont know current prices. sammy isn't better either.

Seran Mizorogi, 16 Feb 2024Screen cost: $20 How much Apple charges for screen replacement : $37995% of the phone's price... this checks out
Please, no notch or dynamic meme. I can bear losing its physical button but really want my camera out of my screen.
There are very few good phones without a notch, I even only got a SE because of that.

Final price to make is too similar, also R&D of small phones are even higher since they are harder to concieve.
Z3 Compact did pretty well for Sony, difference was €150.
It was more different from Z3 than iphone mini from iphone.
Less ram, plastic frame.

The other were based on iphone 8. Many ppl prefer touch ID and old design over the current.
Mart, 16 Feb 2024IPhone made by Samsung. Which one is the best iPhone or Samsung? Screen (not on all units ) is only samsung component.
No, samsung is not only supplier of ram/storage for phones.
Anonymous, 16 Feb 2024Funny how some ppl here expect it to be based on 13 mini when it failed to sell as much as app... morePeople love to say it "failed" just because it didn't meet Apple's expectations, when in reality some competitors wish they'd sell as many units as Apple did with the minis.
Apple sold roughly 242 million iPhones in 2021 alone. There are conflicting reports on the percentages, but even if the 12 mini and 13 mini only accounted for merely 5% of that in 2021, it's still around 12 million units. For comparison, the whole Galaxy S21 series combined sold around 13 million units in its entire lifetime.
People love throwing the "didn't sell" argument around, but they actually sold a lot if you put things into perspective.
Anonymous, 16 Feb 2024Funny how some ppl here expect it to be based on 13 mini when it failed to sell as much as app... more13 mini failed to sell was cause the phone price. It was only 100 bucks less then the standard iphone so there was no point cause the standard iphone is already compact enough in modern standards where majority of phones are over 160mm tall.
While SE was more compact then standard iphone and also cheaper a lot.
Standard iphone is 147mm tall while SE was 138mm tall and then 13 mini was 131mm tall
If standard iphone is too big then people buy the SE for more compact size and half the price of the standard iphone. What be the point to get mini if that be just 100 bucks cheaper ?
I‘d prefer if Apple offered a model with LCD until MicroLED becomes mainstream. If possible, I‘d like to skip OLED entirely.
keklivesmatter, 16 Feb 2024Compare Apple silicon to Samsung silicon and you get your answer 👍Apple don't even fabrics chips lol. While Samsung does.
I really hope they just end up putting an LCD in it, I would downgrade so fast.
"The report claims three display makers are currently fighting for Apple's orders for the next iPhone SE, with Samsung offering (perhaps surprisingly) the lowest price per panel of $30, BOE offering a price of $35, while Tianma went with $40. None have won the contract yet, as Apple has reportedly countered by offering just $20 per panel, so negotiations are still ongoing."
If only people could just buy displays like these. Corporations/Conglomerates like Qualcomm and Samsung Semi can't just offer commercial buyers a chipset and be like, "Oh, go enjoy your SnapDragon 7+ Gen 2!" like no. If panels like these are 20 dollars, people can buy hundreds (assuming they have Vision Pro lol)
Anonymous, 16 Feb 2024Funny how some ppl here expect it to be based on 13 mini when it failed to sell as much as app... moreI mean, all three iPhone SEs have been smaller then the regular iPhone counterpart, and the two were a success. For once, it cuts down production cost by a bit, and perhaps more importantly, it helps it differentiate it from the main lineup, which the SEs did very well. A negative example would be the iPhone 5C. It sold really well, but is considered a failure because the reputation damage they got from just building a shittier iPhone with a plastic back, last years chip, a no fingerprint sensor.
