Do most people in other countries outside of the US pay full price for phones? In the US you get the newest iPhone free with trade ins every year and the prepaid mvnos even subsidize iPhones to free or nearly free.
This might be out of context, but:
Apple users praise iPhones because they keep their value for a longer time than other phones. But if they keep their value, why wouldn't I buy a new one, which costs just a bit more? If the swcond-hand one is expensive, why not go for a new?
Even if apple ceo come and give me iPhone 20 brand new no thanks. It's a shame to speak about refurbished ones.
13 Pro is the best on here. It's 590 USD or 550 euros. A15 is still plenty fast, cameras good and still supported until 2027/28.

New Samsung phones mostly also costs less at resellers than Samsung. So yeah, pretty normal. No news in that.

I don't like it. Not the "deal" , nor the approach overall. Why in EU's name would someone want an very old used (!) phone for above 300 euros?! And why other manufacturers just don't do such things?
Why say Xiaomi would eagerly sell you brand new modern phone for that price, or a simpler model even for half of that? And others like realme, oppo, oneplus too. It's ridiculous.
Refurbished from Apple gave you new casing and battery, warranty, and eligibility for Apple care. It's basically new in a white box. I wouldn't buy refurbished iPhones from anywhere else other than Apple considering the plethora of fake iPhone components on the market.
Anonymous, 04 Feb 2024>The price difference between them is small enough that it makes sense to pick up the more ... moreOh, I found my answer. It's the person who writes the polls that suggest 50% of people reading on this site buy a version of a new flagship everytime one comes out, which I previously said would make the replacement cycle for a new phone for the average person reading this site about 3 weeks.
>The price difference between them is small enough that it makes sense to pick up the more capable Pro model as they are the same size-wise.
The Pro is much heaver for not much benefit so it's definitely not the same consequence for everyone. I wonder who wrote this article with so many statements completely detached from reality.
