Anonymous, 01 Feb 2024Blame your phone being too old more like. That's nonsense. Battery life change after upgrade is not pointing to old hw. My 2ndary device is A50 with no problem and no Android 14

Kanglasha, 01 Feb 2024Well. $800 (for S24) is a lot of money for me. I don't buy phones every year. I don'... moreWait till you see the 8 gen 3 version. It sucks too.

This years devices are turning out to be very poor for efficiency. The gaming time says it all.. Got beaten out by last years 8 gen2 with a smaller battery ... The 8 gen3 isnt efficient either but probably more so than the exynos. The battery capacity is too small considering the rest of the competition has been doing at least 5000ma and others like oneplus are doing 5400ma. A galaxy is still an android phone however much they try and make it look like an iphone and should be priced accordingly. Rip 2024 android i dont want a poor chipset like exynos, i dont want snapdragon 8 gen3 as it throttles way too much and i dont want a dimensity portable heater either with its all big core design. Bad year avoid all of them.
Jerry24, 31 Jan 2024That's bad, poor batterylife despite a bigger (+200mah) battery.I'd blame android 14..on my a52, after upgrade I've lost like 30% of battery life (especially when browsing!!) Google spyware crap everywhere, slowly starting to consider switching to another brand

I don't and won't gamble my money on exynos. Maybe most of samsung customers (99%) are rich enough to be able to risk buying and throwing it and buying another phone it Exynos sucks again.
This Samsung S24+ battery autonomy tends to be better as the artificial intelligence system learns to adapt to the smartphone owner's use. Furthermore, this reduction in autonomy was expected, since the screen has a much higher resolution than that of the S23+, which was full HD, 1080x1920.
what a waste samsung spoiling its reputation again

47cosmos, 31 Jan 20248g4 will eat even more power than 8g3That's completely unknown at this point, especially with the switch to Oryon cores.
It is a bit funny that when I added S24+ in the S24 battery life test yesterday, it showed up. :)
Anyway, yesterday was the last day I was able to get 512GB version for 200€ less. I decided to order it and I'll give it a try. I can decide to send it back if I won't like it or the camera is bad (bananagate). But I think this will be a big update from my current phone anyway. Other tests on YT shows a bit different story, but still S24 Ultra is still better.
Anonymous, 31 Jan 2024Seems 8 gen 3 is more efficient overall but has higher peak power consumption when stressing it 8g4 will eat even more power than 8g3
Classic Exynos
Kanglasha , 31 Jan 2024So why not put Exynos in all S24 Ultras too. Or be consistent and put Exynos in all S24, 24+ a... moreAs I told you it's business decision, if they put E2200 and E2100 in Ultra which was much worse you think they can't with E2400? Companies care about profit more than how Enthusiast think, 99% of people who buy these phones don't care what soc it have.
MRSTEK, 31 Jan 2024gimme a proof that these phones in this specific test would use maximum peak brightness instea... moreIf GSMArena test Streaming by using streaming sites like YouTube and Hdr is on of course it will reach that nits, this is new test, not like older offline video test and you can clear see it's stressing phones that's why scores are lower than previous tests, nits in modern display don't reach 2600 manual, it's Automatic and part of screen will reach that nits If content allow.
Anonymous, 31 Jan 2024Tests are not done at full brightness though but at similar brightness levels. Idle efficiency... moreIf it was that, then S24 would fare same, but S24 had good gaming score compare to S24+ both use same soc, so it's Display. Also GSMArena is not transparent how they measure game, do they use same quality in Game? Or their game adapt to different resolution? Because only Gaming take hit video streaming is still good even in 24+.
