Maybe looking into Huawei phones photo taking capabilities can be something you should consider doing
If you only want this phone for the camera, get a real mirrorless camera and study the basics: ISO, shutter speed, focal lengths, and aperture. Knowing all that, get an appropriate phone. Or, skip the learning curve and get a Pixel phone.
I imagine it will adopt the 8gen 2+ SoC because that happened with the 2023 model, they are banned from using the latest and greatest (8gen 3at the moment) but the camera will be amazing 4sure
Looks like H Enjoy

Excited as always when a new Huawei flagship is inbound. The most innovative phone company no doubt, followed rather closely by Vivo and Xiaomi.

Their video performance is still subpar compare to what samsung and apple phones could offer, their zoom quality on 5x - 10x is subpar on what samsung's zoom, I really puzzled on why Dxomark still rates the P60 pro's zoom higher even thou that Samsung's zoom on their s23 ultra is clearly the winner. Huawei's stabilization on their video is not great, they are not that stable compared to what samsung and apple could offer, they are just simply not the best but overall, they have the best cameras compare to what apple and samsung could offer, but that is just for me. I believe that Dxomark is somewhat have a crappy results on their phone test.
Samsung and Apple got something to do with the ban on Huawei, well I believe they don't, but I think they just told the US gov that Huawei is just to strong for them that they could not compete with it so, the US gov pulls out it's spying card ( with no evidence of course) and just throw craps at Huawei, even without a single evidence and shockingly many people believe that, I mean if you use facebook which actively collects your data, and throw tantrums at Huawei for spying, isn't that make you a stupid person? Like those poeple who believe the Earth is freaking flat?

Why? Simple, they are very Un innovative and they are following Apple's BS footsteps. For example Samsung throw tantrums on Apple for removing Charging bricks on the main box, now guess what Samsung followed suit, isn't that the most BS thing I know? The only Innovation Apple had created is the fact that they removed every useful components in a phone that a user needs so that they could milk as much money as possible in one person. The earphone Jack, the charging brick? What's next? will apple sell the Oled displays separately?

Note that this is just me. I really do not care if the company is located in what country in the world, as long as it nods and follows the US directive even thou it is right or wrong, I will consider it as a western company.
Huawei phones take good photos but they're not the best, they never were the best, that's just DXOmark telling you. Their photos tend to look artificial with strange looking detail and noise reduction that looks computer generated sometimes. Colours pop as well. Sharpening sometimes is overdone and is always at the cusp of being oversharpened.
But is that bad? No, just overrated I think. Huawei has to do all this because they don't get the luxury of getting access to awesome sensors like Xiaomi or Oppo do and the fact that they're still keeping up and beating them sometimes is nothing short of an outstanding achievement that Samsung should learn from. Huawei used to be a true innovator and their refinements were actually cool unlike what Samsung is doing post S21 U series. If Huawei were allowed to sell globally then we'd have had a far better market than today's one, companies would've been forced to innovate or price better. Shame on you Apple and Samsung, pretty sure these guys had something to do with it, they benefitted the most.
Huawei has already started going all in on the chip industry after the qualcomm bans. Imagine them making some cool ahh sensors and fighting tooth and nail with those, now that's something I look forward to. For the first 5-6 years these won't be any good but they'll not just get better compared to their previous gens, but even better than their western counterparts. That's what's always happened with Chinese products, they're considered poor imitations at first, western companies stagnate and they innovate slowly but surely and reach the point where they get better. Hisense and TCL are an example, by comparing them to Samsung and LG MiniLED TVs. I'll be waiting for that day.

How does that make sense? I miss the old Samsung. Maybe they're trying to keep that feature at bay for a new phone, I hope so at least.

But no, Samsung is a Korean company and Korea is firmly located in the East, not in the West, so it is not a Western company. Samsung is a Korean Chaebol, huge family owned companies that are nothing like Western companies. The CEO has been to jail for corruption and fraud and, for some reason, is still leading the company.
Samsung's Note 9 had a variable aperture and took fantastic photos for its time. I wish it was a more common feature.

I consider them as a western company because they are following the lead of the US, so I can say that they are a western company, but to clear things up let's just say that one of the huge benefactor of the Huawei ban is Samsung. Just to say, samsung is just a western company at heart
Anonymous, 21 Jan 2024Omnivision just to save money. Even htc can afford from sony /samsung. That is what really baffles me the most. Huawei said that they are creating their own sensor, but they are still buying OmniVision sensors, which is not bad but I guess they are maybe stockpiled sensor that needs to be used, maybe the P70 Art could get their own in house sensor, and what is weird is that they are using 1 inch sensor on their ultrawide cam and not on the main cam, honestly the p60 pro still has a lacking ultrawide capabilities, maybe Huawei's camera software is to mature that it did not even need a one inch sensor just to stay ahead of the camera game, which they dearly hold. But what I am also concerned of is their chipset, the Kirin 9010, do that chipset have the capability to produce good photos and videos? A perfect sensor, a perfect camera software and algorithm is useless without a proper chipset. Note that some Chinese phone brands are using powerful Sony sensors, much powerful than the famous IMX 766, Huawei even use that on the Mate 50 Pro, but I think due to Japan being a "US tail" I think the only reason they could not get their hands on those powerful sensors is because of the bans.
“...the number one benefactor is Apple and Samsung, both are western companies.”
Samsung is a Korean company. Korea is the East, not in the West. It's most definitely not a Western company.
CamoGeko-XDA, 21 Jan 2024Ehh haven't been excited about any Huawei or Honor phone for a while now. They're pr... moreNope, they are pretty much alive and kicking, as the matter of fact Huawei still have more employees than Apple, 207000 employes on Huawei, according to Huawei themselves on 2022 and 161000 on Apple in 2023 according to macrotrends. Many people think Huawei is only a smartphone vendor, but actually they are also a telecommunications company, selling telecommunication equipment to various countries like 5g equipment, they are also selling wearables like smartwatches and wireless earbuds, and now they are also selling EVs, and they are also selling laptops. Huawei's profit has drop due to their massive R and D spending which Apple will never do and with the hype Huawei has been creating in China, apple is being kick out although their former Sister company, Honor is the one who is leading the Chinese smartphone charge rather than Huawei itself. Maybe in the later future, with installing google services on Huawei phones getting simpler, maybe Huawei could take back some of the markets the US gov and Apple stole from them, ever since the ban, the number one benefactor is Apple and Samsung, both are western companies.
Front facing stereo speakers might actually temp me lol. I can't stand the current stereo speaker setup on current phones. The speakers are one of my fav parts of my Sony phone

When it comes to the Snapdragon counterpart I think the best guess would be in between the 888 and the 8+gen 1 chipsets, not sure, but my best guess would be in the middle of the 8gen 1 and the 8 + gen 1. But we will see if that will be the case
