Also no it won't be cheaper as Samsung is using a different panel M13 with better hdr and peak brightness

And Samsung being Samsung, often misleads consumers with false advertising, for example, that waterproofing scandal from Australia. They still market their phones as having such wonderful build, with buzzwords like "Armor Aluminum" and "Victus Glass 2 plus" or whatever
But durability tests have shown that their flagships fail miserably in drop tests, often failing right on the first drop. That's again, false, misleading marketing, if their phones don't perform upto the mark then they should not be making big bold claims about them
I'm sure, this year after copying apple, Samsung will once again make a huge deal about that titanium frame calling it some next level in phone durability or Super Duper armour titanium ultra frame or something

Whether it's cheaper or more expensive, I hate glass screen protectors. It's not a plastic screen protector that I use, either, you not knowing anything about the topic doesn't make something too expensive.

Regardless of preference, going from curved to a flat display is physically a downgrade, unless they make it cheaper, which they won't.
Interesting how the "inflation" doesn't affect any other brand, but Samsung.

That goes for the base s24 and plus variant as well.
The only upgrades are incremental (camera, peak brightness, processor etc
It's not a huge deal if in that case, prices remain the same
Also with increasing competition with iPhone, they have to keep prices in check. Otherwise people will just buy an iPhone, because it's a big deal for some

That's understandable, for a gamer I wouldn't recommend a phone with a curved display either.

Well, technically every phone needs cases that are specifically made for it, so I don't think that should be much of an issue. I only use original cases for my phones anyways.

Yeah, I get a discount because I apply them for myself at the store I work at, but it's not expensive at full price either, about 23 USD. It's not glass, but I wouldn't use glass on a phone with a flat display either.

We... moreIt's a matter of preference to go for a flat or curved display but the issue is that curved screens make it hard to apply accessories or need specialised cases that fit properly on them. Curved screen protectors are rare to find, the ones that apply without problems. And for gamers, a curved display is very inconvenient, at least where there are lots of buttons on screen (some become hard to reach if they're located on the curved part)

They won't make it cheaper, because they don't have to, they could make it even more expensive and people would still buy it, but they keep the price, so they can say, that at least they kept that.

Well at least, that's according to my use and my opinion. I prefer curved over flat.
However what isn't my opinion, but a fact, is that curved screens cost more than flat, the S24 Ultra switching to a flat display should cost less than the S23 Ultra, but obviously it won't, and I find that hard to like.
