If money is not much of an object, I would consider this... though at this point iPhone 15 Pro Max sounds like a better purchase.
Simply NO, too Overpriced. No longer a true gaming phone too. Just a typical smartphone now, and for the price, jeez its better to just get an iPhone or Samsung S24 Ultra. Or why not get the awesome overall beast RM9Pro that's a true gaming phone that's half the price too,
justasmile, 14 Jan 2024If you thought the Nothing Phone 2 was overpriced, think again.
Anyway, it's not rea... moreThis.
And with the design now being that of a normal phone, I'll just get a normal phone and get way more updates for the same price - or less, seeing as the S24 range will have network packages that can be cheaper here in the UK and will also probably be discounted and/or available refurbished later in the year. (Or a discounted S23 could be in play, it's not like the 8G2 is a slouch even for gaming.)
I am not a gamer, but as a music lover, I appreciate the 3.5mm jack with good quality and the great speakers. However, at this price it is not worth for me, so I'll be buying some mid-ranger that still has the 3.5mm jack.
Battery life & awesome power is what I loved. But OnePlus 12 (great alternative), Vivo X100 pro (complete phone), iQoo Neo 9 (SD Gen3 at much cheaper price) with almost same battery & same rate power are better than ROG this year.
No, not with that punch hole.
Just no
Not unique enough as gaming phone, not unique enough as normal phone
Just no
Diagon X, 15 Jan 2024So it's an gaming phone but with all the extra features that the title entrails removed? ... moreThis is becoming more of an all-rounder with a gaming twist. And I feel it's a good decision.
Also, most gamers would wear earphones or headphones anyways.
Diagon X, 15 Jan 2024So it's an gaming phone but with all the extra features that the title entrails removed? ... moreThis is so accurate. Bezels are required for gaming, also to house the stereo front speakers. Some people (including me) prefer the 3.5mm jack for latency.
Taken away both, it is less of a gaming phone.
I'm down to buy this if it's not because of the price. At that cost, I'd rather go for the s24 ultra.
Let me ask you this: if your television screen or gaming PC monitor has a black hole near the edge that you can't get rid off, would you still buy it? If you say yes then I guess we're very different people. The ROG phone is a media entertainment device first and foremost. It should NOT have ANY imperfections or interruptions in the display. The fact that some of you are ok with the punch hole makes me think you don't care about what this phone's CORE PURPOSE is meant to be.

Going to have to pass. Shame, though. I love the idea of 24GB.
The ROG phone is dead. Asis has killed it
This phone is a Zenfone in disguise
With that price, i"ll better wait for and get a Samsung S24
Personally, I don’t prefer phones over 200g. However, anyone looking for a large screen phone with IP68 but lighter than the S22 Ultra would be well served with this.
So it's an gaming phone but with all the extra features that the title entrails removed? No front firing speakers, no bezels to rest your fingers at when gaming, no audio jack and that horrid camera bump that lies exactly where one's fingers would naturally rest, etc. Heck, you can't even tell that phone apart from others now.
GAMIR3DH, 15 Jan 2024Can you fit a fron facing camera on the thin bezel? You play a game and the punchhole occupy s... moreNubia phones use under display cameras but nobody else uses them because they take terrible pictures
That's why Asus is using a punch hole, it's the safest option
GAMIR3DH, 15 Jan 2024I had the A72 and i do agree with that. But that is not a gaming phone. 🙄This 'gaming phone' is more of an all-rounder now with a gaming twist. And hole punch can allow for a more full screen without removing the selfie camera.
