Cpt.Power, 11 Jan 2024Looks interesting just one question. This thing or Metaquest 3???It's not for games, it's more similar to Microsoft's Hololens for it's use-case.

Mills, 10 Jan 2024Now that Apple's Vision Pro is about to release, everyone wants a slice of the pie. Even ... moreAttributes all advancements in tech to the fruit company, even if Apple announces and launches said products YEARS after the competitors. Refuses to acknowledge that the fruit company can be the real copycat and IP thief *cough*iWatch*cough*

Anonymous, 10 Jan 2024sony contributes almost nothing. 99.9% of the features are developed by siemens.CMOS sensors (tracking cameras) and microOLED displays 4K are made by SONY. Sony made microOLED since 2013 for viewfinders - mirrorelss cameras doesnt has mirrros and optical viewfinder but OLEDD/LCD viewfinders that shows what sensor see.

Cool, now even with Sony prices, there's now no reason to buy Vision Pro. And I'd expect the media experience to be far better. Plus, this will work with products not made by the rotten fruit company. Win win win.

Yeah... here we go again... We tried using VR headsets in my company for modeling few years ago... most useless thing you can imagine, its good for casual show-off for customers but for doing any actual work in 3D modeling is just annoying, x10 more time doing simple things, then you need to spend time in front of normal monitor to fix topology and UV maps that is messed up due to a bit crude and simple software.
Then come texturing. If you just paint model in simple colors... sure its cool, but when you need to do PBR/details and you already pay LOTS of money for software license for doing materials that is not compatible with VR... no point of even thinking about headsets.
Not to mention that even friend who is VR game maniac could not spend more than one hour modeling, as you seriously need to focus to do anything as its not game where you can just aim and hope for the best, you need to focus on details and do precise movements.

In short: it will be bought by bigger companies, used for few days, and then it end in conference room drawer to use when some fancy customer or workers in break want to play with VR(as that how our VR headsets end... )

Direct competitor to Apple vision pro and it's probably half the price, but will this be successful or not, AR is hard sell at those process especially when Sony own PlayStation vr 2 and PlayStation 5 will still half the price of this new Sony ar system.

You really believe others have started their development just last year after Apple finally announced to want to join the club? You probably also believe that Sony's PSVR2 being on sale for 2 years was developed based on what Sony learned from Apple through a time machine!
Edit: The first Gen PlayStation VR was even announced 2014 and introduced 2016!
