veloce, 09 Jan 2024It isn't - phones that debuted with Android 13 will get Android 15.Xperia 1 iii wont be getting Android 14. Sony phones in a nutshell: Launched at $1200 but will be getting worse software support than phones selling at half and even 1/4 that price.

veloce, 09 Jan 20241 V and 5 V share same CPU, 10 V has different one.yeah but he was talking about the 10 series, both 10 IV and 10 V shares the same SoC (SD 695), so theoretically, porting the next android to 10 IV (which is strongly hinted will be available for the 10 V) should be feasible. I just doubt sony will have the resources to do it.

Does it resolve the weak wifi signal on 1 IV ? When i run the SpeedTest simultaneously with my Samsung Note 9, Xperia is 10Mbps, and Note 9 is 80Mbps ... OMG

I'm waiting to see if my 10iii gets the 14 update. It's already had the two promised updates and a few security updates. In theory that should be it, however Sony still sell the phone on their website in the UK so you'd expect them to still update it because people are potentially still buying them and the 690 chipset can definitely handle it. The 690 which was replaced by the 695 on the 10iv is actually a MORE capable chip since it can do 4K video whereas the 695 cannot, so if the 695 can handle Android 14, the 690 definitely can.

If you pay that much for a professional grade device it's criminal to ship it with substandard software and btw those google apps are always below dedicated apps that other OEMs make for their devices. As an Xperia user I have seen half of sony fans are delusional they think that hardware alone sells phones lol tell that to LG

video creator app
besides, there are free alternatives to the "lost" ones...
like the google gallery app, if photos app is not your thing...
that... and ensuring that they use less on storage... aka bloatware... i would say, it is balanced, essential apps are there out of the box... if you need other apps, play store is there -already saturated with alternative apps...

I was talking about the news title and that sony have stock android so less then 2 years old Sony phones are expected to be updated with new android version.

Also our planet have had life on it millions of years. Egyptian pyramids are over 12.000 years old so they needed to evolve to a advanced level to build these mountains of rocks.
What is so special about year 2024 ? or even 2024 years of something ?
Do we know secrets of the universe and how life begin in the universe ? No we dont but we live in a year 2024 so why dont we know answers to these questions ?
