Vin Aigre, 06 Jan 2024No, I have Android auto but it's useless. I have Waze, it's enough. where you have it? It's clearly stated that phones that doesn't have GMS service from factory can't have AA. I mean, you can sideload the APK, but on an android auto car tablet, it'll not work.

I have banking apps also and they are still working.
But for other apps you can always find alternatives.
Regarding gmail or gsheets or gmaps I can access from my laptop. So I don't really need them on my phone.
gms is like Tobacco:
In the beginning it was wierd to be without gms.
But with time i just discovered why I did not stop
before?
Now I am happy, without tobacco and without gms

And some people just need specific apps from the AppStore (e.g. for online banking etc) that cannot be installed or properly function otherweise.
That's the whole point.
I am fully aware of the fact that commercial Android is extremely power-hungry and eats away lots of battery power. Alternative operating systems do not have such problems.
But in the end, it's the ecosystem rather than single features that determines how useful your smartphone is for you.
