It's not any faster, it takes exact same time to swipe up or tapping the screen. Blazin fast with 15PM. There isn't any waiting, just swipe up right away and that's it. There isn't moment where you need to wait Face ID to register you, both swiping up and Face ID doing it tricks is happens in blink of an eye.

Another my roommate with his older iPhone 8 with Touch ID, try to unlock by just use tap his finger while he sleep. Definitely it unlocked.
So by far better with Face ID

I agree dude, in fact I prefer notification management as a whole on Android regardless of the unlocking system at play, and always have. Screw changing bubble colours or sweeping visual overhauls, the only thing I want in iOS 18 is a better notification system.
And yeah, I don’t mind them straight up pinching Androids, the two have been pilfering ideas from each other for a decade and half now, what’s one more 🤷

Also Face ID is (like any other system) subject to change and improvement as new technologies come into play. And this is just like under display fingerprint scanners, or are you forgetting how long it has actually taken to get those to the point they are at now in terms of reliability and accuracy.
Let’s not forget that when Apple debuted Face ID, it different but not a step backwards in terms of reliability and performance compared to Touch ID. The same cannot be said for early under display fingerprints scanners that were for quite some not on the same level as their standard capacitive predecessors as far as performance went.
Again, have your preferences by all means. Many are going to prefer one over the other, I myself have a slight presence for Face ID but if Apple chose a different solution tomorrow, I would care less so long as it works equally well or better.
It’s not some nefarious ulterior motive that has led them to this point though, more that they have put substantial time, money and effort in moving the Face ID system along, and would rather invest in taking it further still, other than swapping to or introducing a second biometric system.
