Not just base phone displays... the base phones themselves are turning inferior in every way.

At their price points, Android phones offer better displays, performance, camera, feature sets, even software.

Why even buy such poor value phones anymore? Only the Pro lineup is worth investing in at this point. Shame on you Apple.
