Anonymous, 07 Nov 2023Good phones but too expensive... Not because of quality but software support and stability. Are you serious right now? SD 8 gen 3? 16GB RAM? 1TB UFS storage? 3000nits of brightness? Have you seen that screen resolution - it's 700 Euros. That's a steal. Phones with half those specs cost more than 1000 dollars.

Do you think your 108MP phone camera is better? I also used to make the same mistake but please note that a 12MP camera can end up being better because of other specs such as sensor size, technology etc. then there is the processing and implementation: same sensor and chip in two different brands will result in markedly different photos. That's just the way it is. Cheers.

Chinese devices get quarterly security updates right from the start at vivo even for flagships, loads of google services don't run, even some stuff like nearby Share that is not dependant on google doesn't work. Software is a right mess at vivo. And fixes for bugs takes years if at all (like anything related to notifications, simple Things simply not working right). Yes updates are more frequent than quarterly in beginning, but come without android security patches often. E.g. the current flagship vivo x90 pro+ still stuck on July security patches!!!
And with the dependance on AI vivo pricing disparity between global and China will only grow. There devices in China are basically subsidized by Chinese companies like ctrip that Will be default for booking any kind of trips or travel within China and Vivo taking a cut. I would not rule out that power users that spend a lot soon will get their phones for free in China.
It's like google subsidizing Apple phones outside China, so for companies that only focus on one region it's not good if their devices end up elsewhere.
Comparing prices with China makes no sense. Especially in Europe vivo is plain overpriced with lackluster software (funtouch ain't great). But also in China vivo lost a lot of sales this year, with Honor gaining the top spot. BBK is rightly falling behind Huawei/Honor.in China (still ahead of Xiaomi)

veryangrynerd, 07 Nov 2023If the display was 6.3" instead you would say it is now hard to choose better iQOO 12 and... moreplease be clear with your words, i got the xiaomi 13 cause of it's compact body, and i'm considering in getting the xiaomi 14 after checking the reviews, but i'd always give a compact phone that's not from xiaomi, samsung, apple or google a chance, but chinese manufacturers only make big phones which is so annoying for me, i don't have big hands to hold a 6,8 display phone that's why i don't like them
