Yes, the wire for the glasses is connected to any phone or PC that supports video out from the USB-C port. However, with many smartphones still not having such a capability in the first place, Xreal created the Beam as a bridge solution that can also double as a power bank*.

Phones are also not meant for text and drive but people still do it.

I would imagine that the batteries be inside the temples as these are really large on the glasses. And to be honest i would think that to have long wire attached to these things and need to connect them to power source would be really uncomfortable

Vikass17, 24 Oct 2023Let's wait 10 years and see where we reach. That should be directed to Apple Vision Pro. This kind of gadget has already existed for a long time now.

Also, there are no batteries inside the glasses since the power comes from your phone or your PC (or, in the case of Xreal, the Beam).

So the Pro version has electrochromic dimming, just like the ones in Rokid Max? This should be an interesting fight.

bought one a while ago, text at the edges are always blurry and i always had issues trying to get focus right. sold them away and bought a quest 3 instead. no blurry edge problems any more + great ar as well. anybody who intends on getting a xreal should really consider quest 3 instead. might not be obvious that they operate in the same field but they actually do.

It's a good idea but takes your attention away when your in the wild like we have the problem of text and drive or walk and text and then get hit by a car who text and drive.

Also i am paranoid about batteries and i dont want them close to my head.
Just few days ago or week ago i saw a video of some hotel hallway where you can see how someone's electric bike/scooter exploded on charging. All that was seen was 2 dudes run away and then flames come out of the door to hallway.

Reminds me of the exploding batteries on Samsung long time ago where some dude lost half of his face

Just the upgrade I needed. I'll probably see whether the Pro is worth it. Otherwise, looks promising.
