pl2rts, 11 Oct 2023Yeah well but will Realme and Redmi be in the Canadian market ?
Not at all, and they'll never be.
There's TCL (Alcatel) and Wingtech (Samsung) with their super boring and flimsy phones that barely sell

Anonymous, 11 Oct 2023Both are trash. For android we have Samsung. Others aren't needed. So is your comment.
Anonymous, 11 Oct 2023It’s not like you were going to buy any of these phones, redmi userIt's not like they're giving it for free, stop defending overpriced phones.
Anton., 11 Oct 2023motorola and its rehashes!! this is the next one to disappearI have seen those predictions since 2017, they still exist, and it will most likely stay that way.
Anonymous, 11 Oct 2023I have no idea of dimensity performance. I know generally Snapdragon is good, exynos aren'... morebetween them both. While you can count the Snap 888, 888+, 8gen1 and 7gen1 to Exynos CPU's because they were Manufactured by Samsung, not TSMC.
Acorns, 11 Oct 2023No phone should have less than 5000mah battery no matter how fast or slow it charges. Period!Having a big battery doesn't guarantee you long battery life. The iPhones are still one of the longest lasting and a smaller Phone has lower power consumption. That the chipset is efficient is way more important than the battery being large.
Your battery can have 10000mah and will still end up giving you less hours off battery life in 3 years than a 4000mah cell after 3 years when the chipset wasn't efficient.
What damages the battery the most is high temperature.
and a 10°C difference let's the battery age about 2-3 Times faster.
So the 10000mah cell will have aged like it is almost a decade old and be useless.

you can get a pixel 6a for like $300 and it'll have a vastly better CPU, GPU, camera, and software promise (oh, and the battery on the 6a is 10 mAh larger despite the screen being 0.5 inches smaller). the only reasons why i can see someone buying this turd are the screen and charging speed.
As a sidenote: people need to understand the North American smartphone market to understand why this is a good phone. Obviously from the pov of European and Asian markets this is mehhh at best value proposition.
Anonymous, 11 Oct 2023I have no idea of dimensity performance. I know generally Snapdragon is good, exynos aren'... moredimensity socs use tsmc, so there are no unwelcome surprises regarding efficiency. but, the particular dimensity used in this phone is old and underpowered.
rosesarerosie, 11 Oct 2023They should leave it at 499$ For 599$ its overpricedOh don't worry, a year from now it'll be at $300 or below perpetually on Amazon
This phone is lacking in the chipset department. This is literally a downgrade from not only last year, but the year before. The battery is also smaller than I'd prefer. Aside from the usual no headphone jack and MicroSD card, this phone is otherwise a really solid phone. Great display, properly fast charging (very rare in the US), and even an IP68 rating. Camera is probably mediocre.
Wait until this comes down in price if you can stomach the faults. Otherwise, just get last year's model for just $250 on Amazon for the 8/256 tier.
Anonymous, 11 Oct 2023I have no idea of dimensity performance. I know generally Snapdragon is good, exynos aren'... moreI wouldn't really put either in any specific box, every soc has their own raw performance regardless of brand or series.
If we were to get the best of snapdragon and dimensity for example (SD 8 gen 2 or D9200+) the raw performance doesn't matter but the snapdragon will come with better optimisations and energy efficiency.
For this specific dimensity 7030, it seem all round reliable chip but probably not great for the likes of gaming.
Besides that I'm a fan of using more energy efficient cores here than performance cores.
Whilst in this phone the soc looks like it's weakness it actually makes sense seeing as this phone has most bells and whistles that a flagship phone would have without the performance that the majority of the market doesn't utulise.
