hmm, 04 Oct 2023Oof 580 euro for SD695 while i have SD7+ Gen 2 for 410 euro. Also larger screen in more compa... moreYou know who's paying the subsidies for that 7 Gen 2? Child labors working for minerals in conflict zone, overworked and underpaid chinese workers, and the environment pays because of the pollution from these producers.. You'd think with cheap selling price they'd bother disposing waste properly?? Meanwhile Nokia HMD is EcoVadis platinum rated.. I'll pay more for fairness and future sustainability.. I'll pay more to boycott child labor and modern slavery
Great phone I use it every day, it's nice to see they have stuck with IPS LCD display and not AMOLED which most devices use nowadays, LCD is much better for my eyes and it's hard to find a good phone that uses this
Notafanboy-Fanboy, 06 Oct 2023Is Nokia still alive ??yesssssssss
welll, 05 Oct 2023IP technology cant get any better, max 75, 120hz is fictiveMy phone can do 165Hz many else like ROG from Asus Razr 40 Ultra etc too.
Is Nokia still alive ??
The phone is supposed to launch with Android 12 but it immediately has the Android 13 update and September 2023 security patches. So it has 2 years of OS updates...
Anonymous, 03 Oct 2023I've actually noticed burn in on LCD and Samsung AMOLED, both being from under 300$ phone... moreWell Apple uses different technology and ancient displays. Its already 2023 and their 1000 eur phones have only 60 herts screens.
Anonymous, 04 Oct 2023Irrespective of the low spec for the money, I don't get why they're still making pho... moreA small chin requires a slightly more expensive connector (in hardware cost and assembly). With the cheaper connector, that extra bezel has to be somewhere, with the top of the display unavailable being occupied by the front camera that left the bottom. It doesn't bother most of the buyers, so vendors won't change unless people switch their preference or the price difference disappear.
Anonymous, 04 Oct 2023Personally I would gladly pay extra for a phone manufactured in EU, but 699 EUR is a tough sel... moreThat price is for the Limited Edition XR21 which has only 50 units produced and is now sold out. HMD are releasing a regular made in Europe XR21 for 549 which is still too expensive but more reasonable after a price cut.
Anonymous, 04 Oct 2023Personally I would gladly pay extra for a phone manufactured in EU, but 699 EUR is a tough sel... moreCause it's a rugged phone i would think it's price be ok around 350 euro.
I am from the EU also and would spend on EU product if the price would not include the magical European hand work that should be better then other regions of the world.
Same quality product from China is 2-3 times more expensive in Europe.
We still need to ship in materials cause we dont have infrastructure built for self sufficient where we have factories that do all the parts that should cut a massive cost for all the shipping the materials.
Also i would say that European hand work is lower quality then China hand work cause Chinese have decades of experience on working with electronics as mass production factories.
*** Boyler is on sale ***
Irrespective of the low spec for the money, I don't get why they're still making phones with such a big chin border.
KYFPM21, 03 Oct 2023Like fairphone, expensive because being manufactured in Europe and paying Europe wages. Jus... moreFairPhone dont have much better chip for it's own special order in the range of SD778 to 782 performance for 8 years in high price. That chip is around 100-200k more points trough antutu benchmark score over SD695
Oof 580 euro for SD695 while i have SD7+ Gen 2 for 410 euro.
Also larger screen in more compact body size then this XR21
Personally I would gladly pay extra for a phone manufactured in EU, but 699 EUR is a tough sell nevertheless. We'll see what Nokia brings in future, I respect their move to return to Europe in each case.
This phone is an embarrassment
How About A big Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ?
