I think you are confusing things. In 2010 I was making twice the salary you mentioned (was in IT sector) and still I wasnt able to afford a car then. And I don't know cars available for 1L. If you meant 2nd hand cars, you can buy the same now.

I don't know the logistics or the politics of India, but I would assume that a new semiconductor plant that is an option for building chips, especially for the mobile world, would and should be a good thing.
Especially since Monopolies in businesses are a bad thing.
So I salute India for their drive in building this plant.

Samsung and iphone mobiles are manufactured in India today and more companies would do the same in future as they are shifting their base from china to India.

Micron is not manufacturing chips in India, it's assembly, test... moreManufacturing is way complex.
Just think making a packet of potato chips in india, can be called made in india as the workers puts chips in the packet while staying in india.
But now think of the complex parts.
Where does those potatos came, are they from india like the land was india those potatos grew or not?
The workers, tools and capital all inovolved in production, were from indians or not?
There are sevaral other ingredients needed to make those potato chips, are they also made in india or not?
I hope i am able to show my view on made in india or whatever other country.
The details are not known and are hard to know by the end consumers.
So, consumers just need to know if products are useful for them or not, that's it.
Everything else is politics cause everything is made in earth as existance.

Even the food you and i eat needs cooking and it is risky, why?

India just started to participate in the race for now.
Before this india was just trying, practicing for the race which they failed to even participate.
Hope india will make a significant presense in the market like capturing 10 petcent market within next 10 year.
If it fails to do so then it will be hard to compete with countries like china, usa.

Its Milan, 25 Sep 2023dude 🤦🏽♂️ Indian here and I can also say the failure rate would be highI'm also Indian and I know failure rate will be higher at start but don't you think western countries are also weak at manufacturing because 90 percent of the western electronic products are only designed in west but manufactured in countries like China Vietnam etc. Western countries don't have experience to manufacture chips although they are good at designing chips.
