I think a future Sony Xperia will only be available in Japan. At the moment it is impossible for a new USD $1,500 smartphone to gain traction internationally. Sony will have to dig really deep and ""re-design"" their smartphones if they insist on sticking to a USD +$1,000 price tag 2024. At this point Sony needs to design a DSLR with e-sim. Lol, good luck Sony.

I really hope by 6x zoom, they mean the variable focal length. Having 3-6x zoom in a phone completely lossless would be amazing, certainly better than the competition. If they do add more zoom, I would definitely try to save up for this phone. Sony please don’t botch your new phone, you can’t afford it.

I would like to see sony corps shown the door and replacement xperia marketing team and re-establish it's Xperia sales in Australia the cost of living is high and The competition samsung and apple are so over priced with the microsd and headphone jack options for internal storage is ruining the phone market. Sony xperia is way cheaper in Australia but left the market in 2017 without a reason ita discussing . I would like to see sony xperia use their DSLR megapixel camera rather than sell it to their competitors to make more profit asus and samsung using sensors from sony and DSLR lens but sony keeps going cheap with out of focus lens and no night-time focusing and lighting

If Sony attempts to compete with other 2024 flagships, can you imagine what the cost of their next attempt of flagship would be! In 2024 no one is going to pay $2000 for a phone or $3000 for a “so call Sony Pro”. It is safe to say that Sony smartphones are officially dead!

1 Mk 5 was sold in the UK with 256 GB storage only (something that was nice in 2020 but is unacceptable in the premium segment in 2023+) and measly 2 years of OS updates (unacceptable really).
If 1 Mk 6 continues the trend, that's it for me, and my 1 Mk 2 will be the last Sony in my pocket - paying heavy premium for overpriced slim camera with minimal upgrades just doesn't make sense.
I really hope Mk 6 will make a splash.

Happy to see that there are still supporters and fans of the Xperia brand phone. With a bit of luck, Sony might finally exceed 1% market share for Android phones in 2024.

6x zoom? If we go from 16mm, than 6x zoom is 96mm which is actually perfect. If we go from 24, than it's about 144mm which is ridiculously useless.
