I don't like mediatek also.
Would Xiaomi get right of that poor proximity software based? Because it really annoying to continue ont that I didn't upgrade my phone from RN10 pro because of it + no dedicated SD card nor eSIM and the CPU.
Hopefully they will fix this back and include Snapdragon it 13 pro max 5G as example
Anonymous, 12 Sep 2023I love how everyone in the comments section are missing the whole point about why people disli... moreSnapdragon are the same guys that ruined 3 generation's worth of smartphones
The snapdragon 888,888+,8Gen1 was manufactured by Samsung and practically overheated like crazy.
hmm, 11 Sep 2023I would rather see them remove the ultrawide and macro cam from the phone so they have just on... moreFair point on the macro. Tbh any macro, ToF, B&W sensor can just be gone. I personally use the ultrawide for anything that has to do with exaggerating speed or POV shots. So I found it useful back when I had the Samsung S20 (screen broke twice, it was a hand me down that I fixed but the replacement screen died with no damage done). However on my current cheapo phone with the bad really soft ultrawide that I can't record with, I barely use it if at all.
I love how everyone in the comments section are missing the whole point about why people dislike Mediatek in general, let me make it clear for you all:
People don't hate it just because of heat and inefficiency, some of those might have been a thing of the past, but that's not even the beginning of the mediatek hate, that's just your wraped view and limited knowledge of things (because we have the same feeling about exynos as well).
People prefer Snapdragon because the community behind it is so massive that most apps are designed around it (genshin impact wouldn't render the body models properly on an exynos, for example).
That means more custom rom availability, which to some of you might not be important, but considering how 99% of users here like to complain about poor Android support after 2 years, I would say its extremely important to these complainers to have custom rom support, as it is a great way to extend the lifespan of your device, software wise.
Also means more accurate emulation, so if you like playing a lot this is an important point as most native Android games are gacha and full of ads, emulation is your only way out of this mess in regards to Android gaming.
You can't blame people for wanting to get the most out of their devices, and Snapdragon provides the best out of all the 3 major chipset brands, doesn't matter if we get to a point where Mediatek best chipset becomes twice as fast as Snapdragon best chipset, if there's no community behind to support it. All mediatek users do is light browsing and dumb facebook all day so of course you're not going to have performance issues there, but begin doing the things I mentioned above and you'll start having problems, you just haven't gotten to that point, which is why you're oblivious about the glaring issues more power users have.
Zero, 11 Sep 2023An LCD that is very competitive compared to some low quality AMOLED.Bla bla bla bla.. In reality, more and more company adopt OLED display instead of LCD. OLED is slimmer and has less bezel (especially flexible OLED). That's why all cell phones that still use LCDs are thicker and have bigger bezel especially on the bottom.
If Poco X4 GT use OLED screen, for sure the price is not as the same as now.
To me looks cool hope it will come with at least 200 or 300W charging speeds.
JayRoar, 11 Sep 2023Both amoled. S23u and mi12tThat S23 has one of the best screens and battery life from all the devices.
Qimchi, 11 Sep 2023Hopefully, they don't pair a good camera with an 8MP ultrawide. At least a 12MP.I would rather see them remove the ultrawide and macro cam from the phone so they have just one good camera. Majority probably dont use the ultrawide just like the macro cam anyways. Never mind that people take pictures in portrait mode mostly so what be the point of the ultrawide cam in that when people cant change the phone angle to landscape for that ultrawide or just wide
Anders, 11 Sep 2023The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ is €450 so the 13 Pro+ is going to cost at least that. As I said, Xiaom... moreYou cant have all in these middle range phones. X4 GT cut corners to get the phone price down on the parts like camera and other things.
The phones most costly thing is it's camera. Just looking the price difference from 12 Pro to 12 Pro+ that pretty much difference is the camera and then the 120W charger while the price difference is around 160 euro
In middle class phones you either go for the performance or you go with the camera as you cant have both. Want both then you need to look for flagships.
Not that the 8100 is so much of as a flagship but it's still on the range os SD 8 gen 1 or close to it
Very bad choice for processor. They could have just used snapdragon 7+ gen 2, or dimensity 8200.
jerem06, 11 Sep 2023Certification bodies show 8MP ultra-wide angle for all modelsDANG. Every. potentially. good phone. That I would've gotten because of it's price gets ruined by that 8MP, some phones do 8MP well but it's not the main focus for most reviewers to check.

Dr. Watson, 11 Sep 2023Remember when people were ecstatic over MediaTek chips being in phones? They are much better these days, they are very good.
Invetor, 11 Sep 2023If this costs more than $400, it should have dimensity 8100 or better SoC.Totally agree with you.
Or Dimensity 8XXX series at least.
The 7200 is decent, but it goes on lower tiers.
