thats one big lie apple will use snapdragon
Has anyone but Qualcomm made a good cellular modem since the 4G/LTE era? To be clear, I'm not talking about a modem that mostly works like in the Tensor G2, but one that actually works well. Intel modems were, and Exynos still is trash, but I'm not as familiar with the Mediatek and Kirin offerings.
Anonymous, 07 Sep 2023Apple intel are gone...so no But dont trust Kuo, he is dead as a leakerWhy do you say he's dead as leaker? I'm not not in the loop
I Just Read, 07 Sep 2023So I cut, then I pasted this from the source "Qualcomm is the main loser from Huawei’... moreBut Qualcomm is entering automotive, handheld and PC chips business, so modem business losses can be sidestepped or made up in other ventures.
So I cut, then I pasted this from the source
"Qualcomm is the main loser from Huawei’s adoption of Kirin9000S and new Kirin
Huawei purchases 23–25 million and 40–42 million mobile phone SoCs from Qualcomm in 2022 and 2023, respectively.
However, it’s expected that Huawei’s new models will fully adopt the new self-developed Kirin processors starting in 2024, so Qualcomm will not only lose Huawei’s orders completely from 2024 onwards but also face the risk of a decline in shipments to non-Huawei Chinese brand clients due to the competition from Huawei.
Qualcomm’s SoC shipments to Chinese smartphone brands in 2024 are expected to be at least 50–60 million units lower than in 2023 due to Huawei’s adoption of the new Kirin processors and will continue to decline year by year
My latest survey indicates that Qualcomm will likely start a price war as early as 4Q23 to maintain market share in the Chinese market, which will be detrimental to profits.
Two other potential risks for Qualcomm are that the market share of Exynos 2400 in Samsung mobile phones is higher than expected, and Apple is expected to use its own modem chip starting in 2025. I will discuss more details in the future"
It all ties in Exynos 2400 has the potential, potential! to overtake Qualcomm 8 Gen 3 as does Dimensity 9300
Even Qualcomm realises that.
IF you're the totally allergic to EVERY Exynos already marketed let's say you are right and Qualcomm 8 gen 3 posts the best benchmarks ever to date
All the competitors have to do is come close, the closer you are, the less Qualcomm can command the premium.
In this regard, on Samsung and Mediatek I have said this many times, not as a forecaster just common sense.
Or let's go wild here analyst Kuo reads tmy posts? Nah not on Twitter as I can write in long long sentences.
That aside the Article is actually on Apple. O.k
The long lead time imo is only explained if the Qualcomm Apple contract extends to 2024, or unlikely as I find it, Apple are not already ready (to cut costs yet charge more)
Kuo may be just wrong in the date and it is 2024
The in house 5G modem is essentially to reduce costs as you are not buying the physical component
Apple will still have to pay Qualcomm as it will be definitely be using technology already patented by Qualcomm.
you have to suffer, 07 Sep 2023would it be just another intel modem based? who knowsApple intel are gone...so no
But dont trust Kuo, he is dead as a leaker
Billion $ invested 4 years ago MAY start giving yields 2 years later!!!
