Magic OS 7.1 and Android 13. It had regular updates while I had it and my Magic5 has had multiple updates since I got it.
Something has gone very wrong for you but it isn't that Honor don't provide updates. Is your carrier blocking updates?

Well if Honor or any other rband would like to impress me with a foldable phone it must survive jerry rig everything brutal tests,
Display must scratch not before mohs 6 or 7 idealy 8-9 then and only then it will be a great foldable phone with a very durable screen.
Same goes for back of the phone and sides.
It must charge very fast over 100W and it must comes with charger, case and screen protector.
Rest i dont care as much as long as hinge durability can withstand at least 300 000 opens and folds.

Who asked for flip or foldable phones? Its kinda fun to play with but I would never pay for one. I know there are a lot of money spent for making them but it feels like a toy phone for me.

Horizontal or vertical inward folding phones. Just Huawei really seems to be doing anything different with their outward folding ones

I was one of lucky people who bought the magic 5 pro and I can tell you that honor might have a good ideas and design for gadgets but it definitely need to pay attention to software side more. not to say the software is bad but it's not as good and user friendly as Huawei .

But, you might still be onto something. Samsung can do a follow up to their successful Join the Flip commercial and call the event "Night of the Fliping Dead".

why not rollable smartphone like in oppo x 2021?
anyway, foldables is starting to be a big trend now. from phones, laptops and even indonesian made honda mopeds starting to break and fold into 2 pieces😂😂
