AnonD-864404, 29 Aug 2023I will say the price rather surprised me. Look at Apple monitors, 5 grands for retina LMAO. Funny how u are comparing a gaming display to a industry calibrated pro display for video and photo editors.

Anton., 24 Aug 20232,500 dollars only the monitor!!! this has gotten out of hand...Funny, I was thinking it's actually surprisingly reasonable for the specs, I expected it to be actually even MORE expensive. This is one of those things I can understand people spending a lot of money on, after all a lot of people spend better part of their days in front of these things, so it's not unreasonable to pay a lot to get something completely "top of the line", if you can afford it. Some people spend more on clothes.
Anton., 24 Aug 20232,500 dollars only the monitor!!! this has gotten out of hand...It's not crazy for the specs it offers. Price will eventually come down.

I had a CHG70 that crapped out 3 times in a year, then it got replaced with an Odyssey G7 (the original QHD model) that had to be RMAd once and still has its own problems.
Anton., 24 Aug 20232,500 dollars only the monitor!!! this has gotten out of hand...It only gets out of hand if cheap monitors stop existing.
A good 1440p IPS for gaming is around €450 in my country (here that is cheap) and a cheap 1440p IPS start at €260.
Even OLEDs dropped below €900 here.
This thing from Samsung is a niche product, however I rather get a solid HDR 1000 monitor for same money than this.

They going crazy with technology..
Vegetaholic, 24 Aug 2023VA type LCD panel, this is what 2013? Move on people absolute garbage here.Nothing wrong with VA when cheap… which this is not.
Rather have a good IPS, I did go OLED few months with my housemate (monitor, not TV) but he had to send his back because PWM (something a lot of people forget when they complain a smartphone doesn’t have a OLED), and I had to sent mine back twice for warranty due to burn in after 3 months.
And yes I was using all possible methods to reduce any chance for burnin, but compared to watching TV, smartphones or gaming systems, using a OLED as main desktop monitor seems to still be a poor plan.
When mine comes back I swap my secondary IPS to main, and the OLED one purely for gaming only, because I don’t want to send that thing away for the 3rd time.
Looks amazing though, especially if you don’t have issues with PWM.
Imagine paying 2500 just for monitor.
My Laptop Lenovo Legion with Ryzen 7 CPU, 32GB ram, Geforce 3070 RTX 8GB and a 1TB SSD disk costed me 1790 euros. Screen is capable of 4K and is enough for me and my gaming needs.
Cant imagine someone paying just 2500 for just a monitor.
If gaming serious then 1080p 240hz or 1440p 240hz best for you other are gimmick. Unless your about graphic then 4k 60p best for you
Anonymous, 24 Aug 2023Would it have two DisplayPorts and act as two screens?Yes, you can plug in two different sources and use the monitor as two separate screens. This has always been a feature of Samsung's 32:9 displays.

I already wrote that the bandwidth required for this monitor is upwards of 100Gbps, so the fact that an 80Gbps port exists is moot as it will still require DSC to work. Secondly, the Radeon RX 7000 series cards only support UHBR 13.5, which is a 54Gbps connector.
I want to see an OLED version of this super-duper ultra-wide overkill monitor, lol.
Would it have two DisplayPorts and act as two screens?
