More oems can do is make sure same battery designs are used for longer time and back glass like nothing phone. Remove glass, replace battery, add seal and stick the glass. Even this servers the purpose. Also back glass replacement can be cheaper.

It's about time manufacturers switch to higher transfer speeds. Nowadays we're seeing USB type C 2.0 on high end phones costing $700. They're milking the usb 2.0 these days. Same for crappy cameras. You always see 50+8+2MP cameras on the rear for high end phones. It's about time they start using better cameras and not that regurgitated crap.
We've gotta write to someone on change dot org or some similar site to prevent manufacturers from using slow and crappy hardware on newer phones.
USB 2.0 Type C (480Mbps) should be limited to phones $100 and below.
USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5Gbps) for phones up to $300
USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10Gbps)for phones up to $500
USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 (20Gbps) for phones up to $700
USB 4 (40Gbps) for phones $700 and above.
For laptops $1000 and above, give 1 type C port of USB 4 (40Gbps) and 1 type C port of USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10Gbps) and about 3 to 4 USB 3.2 Gen1 Type A ports for connecting the mouse, keyboard and other things.
The manufacturers are milking older hardware because they can. It's time to stand up against this crap.
Anonymous, 17 Aug 2023Great to hear! Do they run iOS?I suggest you re-read the comment you replied to. They specifically mentioned Android and you are asking if it runs iOS.
Hemedans, 16 Aug 2023Why should they Copy? Its already in usb standard, Usb 4.0 has thunderbolt 3 and plenty of ba... moreLike what models do they manage that speed?
Last time I read something about it, most devices used the port while delivering just USB2 speeds, and flagships used gen 1 (5Gbps).
Might? It should be (MUST support)

Good luck getting that through eu. Type c, or no iPhone in eu. Apple better listen, or pay.
So, the "cheap" iPhone is getting shafted once again. Not surprising, seeing as those things still sell despite being several hundred bucks too expensive. Last years chip again I assume, another dual camera, no LTPO, no USB-C with Thunderbolt (and most likely, just USB-C 2.0) + MFI is there again. Why do people pay up to 1k€+ for that? You can get some fantastic Android flagships with way better overall specs for much less.
Well since Apple dont want to risk Samsung Note 7 issues they will reduce charging speeds to what first series of Iphones had.
So seeing USB-C iphone with 5V/1A charging will be expectable.
Same goes for tablets.
Yes, 16 Aug 2023Yes because the lightning port is good design wise whereas USB-C is good in the technical aspect.Yes design should be of lightning and functionality should be of usb-c.
The middle part in usb-c makes it weak and difficult to clean in case of carbon diposit due to moisture or just to clean the lint/dust.

USB 3.1/3.2 is good enough for phones to transfer files and photos, unless they want to bring DeX-like interface to iPhones...

Current Android devices with usb 3.2 has bandwidth of 20GBps same as Thunderbolt 2. So its Apple who is behind and catching up, Android is already there.

eGpu are not supported on all new arm Mac, rip.
Ouifuf, 16 Aug 2023Doesn't necessarily mean faster charging. They'll probably still cap it, especially ... moreAgreed and what's even more interesting is EU demand every smartphone in EU from 2026 habe to be with removable battery 👌🏻. We need to take care of our overconsumption!

It may push smartphones to a new level making devs move and develope something AAA like on PCs and consoles.
That's good news! Not because I use Apple products, but because Android manufacturers will start copying this feature from them.
Yes, the situation is sad, I know. They wait Apple to introduce new features to copy them.
Anonymous, 16 Aug 2023and yet people still defend the lightning port...And yet, Apple is going straight to thunderbolt and not the others that has usbC for years
