Anonymous, 16 Aug 2023eGpu in your dream... eGpu are not supported on all new arm Mac, rip.Snap 8+gen1 already beats the steamdeck, so does the 8gen2 of course.

I don't think it makes any sense to connect an external GPU to a phone. Alone for the power consumption and making a mobile phone not mobile. It's a bit pointless.

We had this before, for many many years, until the greed from manufactures ruined it
And yes, we had the jack, the FM radio and lot of other stuff with IP ratings too.

Siemens M35 (if I am recalling the model right, its been a decade or two) had for example a single screw to unscrew and you could dunk it in water. My friend put it in a glass of Bier for over 30min and it worked for years after, no problem. Would not be suprised if it even worked today.

And the law says that a consumer should be able to replace it with the common tools you have in house. That means at most a screwdriver. Who has freaking smartphone glue laying around in the house?

Nokia symbian phones sharing same batteries, Samsung and LG batteries can be reused/inserted on a different model.

I won't be surprised if it's the same USB-C port lifted out from current iPad tablets.
