This is the cause of overpricing and mediocre software support
I'm a Sony Xperia fan, but it's true Sony Xperia phones are very expensive. If Sony wants to improve its phone sales, it should find a way to make the upcoming Sony Xperia phones cheaper because a lot of peoples don't dislike Sony Xperia phones but dislike its expensiveness.
Sony Xperia phones are very strong and have strong battery endurance. There have different vibes from other phones and I am using Sony Xperia E4 dual E2124 which is very old but functional.
However its Android version 4.4.4 KitKat Google has fully stopped support it so soon or later I have to say goodbye to this old friend.
Their mobile division has weak sales
because their flagship phones are too expensive.
we know that they don't care about the mobiles market :) so it doesn't matter how much they sell. Long time ago I was a fan...until that 21:9 magic ratio :)
blue, 11 Aug 2023Consider the situation: your microSD with all the data fails. The probability is much higher. ... moreOr you can have multiple Legit Sdcard that you can swap since they fail due to limited r/w on these chip based storage, not just sdcards but phones internal storage aswell, but since phone storage is soldered to lessen stress on it, swappable sdcards can hold said files. Cloud is also one but you need to pay premium to have higher storage package & is not always accessible, not to mention will eat up your data if limited & will make you pay more fees.
Anonymous, 11 Aug 2023Maybe he doesn't know that you can back up data on your phone.Maybe he boughr a knockoff sdcard & not a legit one, still have an old toshiba 32gb sdcard that still is class 4 from maybe 5 or so years ago still working & now used in our ip camera. The only once that failed on me recently is a sandisk ultra 128gb sdcard that was even hardly used, luckily it was still covered by return/refund so i then chose to refund & bought now called Kioxia(Toshiba) 128gb sdcard that has been working flawlessly.

The marketing for sony phones almost doesnt exist. They announce a phone months ahead of time and blueball people. Those people wont wait that long or will simply forget and will buy something else. Aspect ratio is not my favorite but I do like my Experia 5 iii. Speaking of 5 iii, naming is trash. Phone is great with almost stock android with a few extra touches. Some hiccups here and there. A lot more consistent than my Samsung 22 ultra.

blue, 11 Aug 2023Consider the situation: your microSD with all the data fails. The probability is much higher. ... morewell backing up outside the phone isnt that easy enough for whose do not have a laptop or pc. and also, not everyone has the time to backup their data off their device.

That's true only with a dedicated DAC onboard.

I want a 3.5 mm jack and a memory card slot. I want my music collection to sound as good as possible when on a mobile phone. The best wired earphones sound better than the best Bluetooth earbuds. So therefore Sony Xperia is the only choice for me.

The probability is much higher. And the data is unrecoverable. Since you relied only on the microSD, you have no backup at all. You're doomed.
The smart people create backups outside the phone. Easy to create, easy to maintain, easy to get back. The smartest have backups both offline and online.
So... my phone can die any day, and all I lose is my home screen layout.
oodav33, 10 Aug 2023I really don't understand, what's happening with Sony's smartphone business in... moreIt's actually very easy to understand - people don't like their phones anymore, because they are behind all others. The most popular is iPhone, then Galaxy S and Z series.

Please sony Make a PlayStation phone with modern hardware

Even samsungs S22 series overheats so it's not exclusively Sony phones but all other Manufacturers who used the horrible SD8Gen1 overheats.
Anonymous, 10 Aug 2023Nobody wants or cares about microsd slots or headphone jacks because wireless exists and Andro... moreConsider this situation: You're phone dies and your files are stuck on it's motherboard. You them have to pay a phone repair shop to disorder the memory chip from the motherboard and backup your files.
Now imagine those files were unrecoverable.
If you have an SD card, you can have the camera automatically save pictures there and keep your most important files there as well.
To some us these are features. Stripping them off the phone isn't a feature. It's anti-consumer.
But, yeah. Keep going on about "poor people."
