Sure…
The hinge survives, but what about the display. Considering the large number of 2nd hand Z Fold and Flip devices being sold with defective screens with pretty much the issue (cracks on the crease area), Samsung should probably consider addressing that instead of boasting how durable their hinges are.
If durability is the primary consideration, I will always wear rubber boots.
Get razr ultra last week and phone is outstanding. Have a huge problem with Samsung'sUI and constant intrusion with pre-installed apps before, so the choice was easy.
Anonymous, 09 Aug 2023Standards of durability ? Haha Go check out Galaxy S serie videos where they drop the phone... moreSame for 13 Pro max and 14 Pro max 💀

Something's tested in a lab: "Oh, but it's unfair because it has nothing to do with real life usage".
Something's tested in real life: "Oh, but it's unfair because everyone uses phones differently".
You can't win with an army of dum dums polarized on the two super-opposite black vs white sides, with no place in their minds for nuance and grey area.
I shall try and bring some much-needed common sense into these discussions, and shock some of those people with a point of view unheard of in their views.
BOTH TYPES OF TESTS ARE IMPORTANT.
Lab tests equalize environmental factors and allow to observe how the device (or a car) directly compare to each other. Better engineered product wins.
Human tests randomize many factors which in turn closes results to real life usage.
All you need to do is analyze available data both test types provide and draw conclusions for yourself, no throw sh*t around trying to prove one method is wrong and the other is good because they're not mutually exclusive. On the contrary, they're mutually complementing.
Any other excuse to say RAZR 40 Ultra is better than Z flip 5, other than the crease, haters? I'm waiting.
Anonymous, 10 Aug 2023What do you mean by taking care, not opening phone?Like accidentally bending it backwards. Dropping it.
Flip 5 will not go for 400000 folds in real life scenarios. But what samsung achieved is impressive.
justasmile, 10 Aug 2023It's their fault, they didn't take care of it properly. What do you mean by taking care, not opening phone?

Anonymous, 09 Aug 2023They need to hire people to test the folding as machines don't set pressure on the sides ... moreSame pressure means it's not bias and equal treatment. If one is worst on equal treatment, then it's gonna be worst in random/unequal treatments.

Anonymous, 09 Aug 2023The Motorola phone died early because it was dunked in dust first. Watch the video.? same was done to the flip 5 genius
I wonder if there is such a test for opening and closing a laptop. How many folds until it breaks the hinge. Mine is still alive after ten years.
Anonymous, 09 Aug 2023The Motorola phone died early because it was dunked in dust first. Watch the video.Actually not. According to the YouTuber himself the hinge issues started around 44000 folds. He also said that already at that status he or any one else would ask Motorola to replace or repair the phone. This means the hinge just lasted one tenth of the advertised folds.
