The Exynos 1380 is pretty close to the SD778G benchmark-wise so it's more of a sidegrade, but given that it is a sidegrade, paying $100 extra for the ability to get 3 more One UI updates is indeed quite hard to justify. That is, of course, considering the currently discounted price of the 128GB Tab S7 FE, but it will probably stay that way because it's an old device, just like how the Tab S6 Lite (2022) has been on discount for the past few months. It'd only be worth it if this new model goes on sale soon after release. But maybe it won't be $600 MSRP, who knows. It hasn't launched yet, they might change the price at the last minute (unlikely).
You can literally get the better non FE Tab S9 for not much more. Plus the charging speed is a downgrade since the tab S7 FE has 45 watt charging, packs a better SD 778G (WiFi model) and is currently less than $500. As a Samsung user, if this becomes real, sorry man but this is just more e-waste. The 1380 would pair better with the tab A9 if it comes out.
DarlingYext, 08 Aug 2023Updates are pointless if the hardware is terrible.Wy my a33 5g is a great device with a lesser soc with andriod 13 its even beter .
Atrocious. Exynos 1380 is a huge downgrade from 8 gen 2, and yet it's not much cheaper?
FE = Failure Edition, and it will always be.
ATI77, 07 Aug 2023Yes with almost zero updates. Updates are pointless if the hardware is terrible.
Leventebandi, 07 Aug 2023Worth to point out, that the FE is not a cheapened down Tab S9, but a Tab S9+ So it`s pretty ... more'Cheapened down S9+', What comparison does Exynos 1380 have with 8 Gen 2? It is going to be just a super overpriced lower mid level tablet. In reality it will be just an A series tablet whose name will be 'S9 FE'.
Zero, 07 Aug 2023Funny story Samsung has sense in the A series with their A8 tablet. The S FE and Lite lines a... moreI don't think they would jump so much in the soc
Worth to point out, that the FE is not a cheapened down Tab S9, but a Tab S9+
So it`s pretty misleading to compare to the smaller one in price
Even tab s8 is cheaper nowadays which is a far better tablet and you can get s8+(with amoled display) at this price with offers

₹63000 for Exynos 1380 😂😂, Is this some kind of out of season April Fool's joke?
Zero, 07 Aug 2023Funny story Samsung has sense in the A series with their A8 tablet.
The S FE and Lite lines a... moreSome corrections...
- The S Lite and FE tiers are pure jokes now.
- The A series seems to belong to other team who has sense on giving prices on their products.
So it lead me to think... what the hell Samsung is doing with their teams? The A series are OK, the S series are nice, but the S Lite and FE tiers are utter trash!
Alex 94, 07 Aug 2023Only Xiaomi or Redmi pad have sense in budget and midrange category.Funny story Samsung has sense in the A series with their A8 tablet.
The S FE and Lite lines are not an utter joke.
And if Samsung wants they can bring the Exynos 1280 in a potential A8 2023 edition.
Anton., 07 Aug 2023samsung needs competition in android!! so that he gets off the pedestal where they are...Xiaomi pad 6, 6/128gb, with free keyboard, 340e in Europe, with 2 years warranty.
AnonD-1003792, 07 Aug 2023Just save yourself the trouble and get a Lenovo tablet for almost half the price. Many of them... moreNot available in half of the world.
It's tge same problem with the original pricing of the S21 FE. $699 for 128GB is only $100 less than the non-FE S21, S22, and even S23. Samsung should really be aggresive with their pricing.
rizki1, 07 Aug 2023oh my god, $600 with E1380And thinking to get a Snapdragon 870 Xiaomi tablet at 300 dollars used was expensive enough...
UltraHD, 07 Aug 2023Only a dumb person would buy this over Tab S9, like it's literally just couple of dollars... moreHeck, even an used Tab S6 or Snapdragon 860 based tablet is enough to deal with the tasks!
