[deleted post]Xiaomi though doesn't use this word for their real 'ultra' models. They actually use the English word 'Ultra' in China for the Xiaomi 11 ultra, 12s ultra and 13 ultra. Sure this phone will have top notch performance but if you go back to the last two models they have been positioned between the regular k model and the k pro model in terms of price and overall features (e.g. the K30至尊版 and k50至尊版). For example this phone will cut wireless charging, and drop the screen resolution from 2k to 1.5k so it makes cuts in other areas. Cameras will basically be more or less the same as the k60 pro hardware wise at least. I don't know but in my view a real ultra model doesn't really hold back on all areas. This is likely to only cost around 2,699rmb too though which is not really 'ultra' pricing. It'll definitely launch for less than the k60 pro did.

Why does gsmarena keep referring to this as 'ultra'? This model every year in China is positioned between the regular k version and pro version so this is positioned between the k60 and k60 pro. Ultra implies it's the top model in the series which it's not. Note Xiaomi themselves do not use 'ultra'. They use 至尊版 which kind of means extreme, with the idea that this is the extreme performance version in the series. Note that Xiaomi specifically use the word 'ultra' for the Xiaomi 13 ultra even in China to signify it is the top dog. The k60至尊版 will be priced between the k60 and k60 pro just like the k50至尊版 was priced between the k50 and k50 pro. It's a middle model that focuses on performance and will cut things like wireless charging and screen resolution. Xiaomi specifically use the English word 'ultra' for their ultra phones. They don't for this because it is not meant to be an 'ultra' phone. Calling it the k60 Ultra is simply incorrect and misleading
blue, 03 Aug 2023Qualcomm does not care at all.Qualcomm have largely benefitted by having the best SoC out there, for that premier position Qualcomm have charged a monopolistic premium
Samsungs use of its Exynos is inpart to slow Qualcomm price drift upwards, and not pay the premium tariff on its entire range of phones.

What do we know now (anticipation) is this year we will see real world results for Apple Bionic 17 ( boring) Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 (interesting) and Mediatek Dimensity 9300 (wait we just had the 9200+ )
And... Exynos 2400, which if it is as good as Samsung hope might might be used in its flagship phones instead of Qualcomm Snapdragons.
The overall benefit if Dimensity 9300 prevails over SD 8 gen 3 would be cheaper handsets and / or better overall specs e.g camera video imho.
Already stated this is what competitions brings
https://nanoreview.net/en/soc-compare/qualcomm-snapdragon-8-gen-2-vs-mediatek-dimensity-9200-plus
Before you react negatively I am espousing views on the Exynos 2400 and its use WORLDWIDE in the Galaxy S range, the related article essentially this is what Samsung is looking at the I.E THE FUTURE, unknown at date***
We may have a situation where Mediatek is the supremo, would you still want Samsung to still use Snapdragons?
***And despite this someone with NO I.Q will try to string a sentence along about an earlier released Samsung SoC

Anonymous, 03 Aug 2023" That is contributing to healthy competition even if so slightly". Mediatek has... moreLiterally not true. Mediate is THE #1 SOC manufacturer by marketshare globally, which every smartphone data report shows. Premium, midrange, budget is completely irrelevant (and not specifically measured). Business and sales numbers don't care about those subjective fanboi segments because the only thing that talks is money. Grow up.
And just like every greedy Chinese brand, K60 ultra would be limited to 4k 30fps.
Abominable.
We want the global version of the Smart Band 8.
Yesterday I went to a Xiaomi store (Italy) and asked if there was any news about it. They told me that it could arrive by mid-September!
