(This came about from the news stories about Android enabling AirTag alerts). Not sure if Google will release their own device (I would have expected leaks by now), but the cool thing about Android is that any OEM can release hardware and it just works. It may not be quite as good as Apple's variant due to reduced UWB penetration in the Android ecosystem, but it should still work for virtually all use cases.

I don't really use iOS, I have only iPad Pro left ... and I pretty much despise it ... but I kinda like Airtags, the battery is good for a year and there are no additional fees to pay.
If Google would to release a decent alternative, I would buy one or two in heartbeat - one for my car and one for a bike I would like to buy in future.
