Problem isn't that Sony provides dedicated software for those who want to spend 10 minutes on each photo, BUT the fact that their main camera software is absolute garbage. Auto cam takes worse photos than 200 usd Xiaomi phones, no excuse for that. Everyone needs to take a quick photo sometimes.

Just one thing I want to point.
No matter which camera you use, have in mind that Xperia's cameras work completely contrary to practically every other phone in the sense that it makes no effort to get the exposure right.
You can test this enabling and disabling face detection.
With face/eye detection the camera will try to exposure for the face, with improves the results a lot, but it seems that Sony overdo the exposure a bit. The best results are achieve taping on the screen.
It's dumb that you need to pay attention to this, tap the screen or lower the exposure a bit when relaying on face/eye detection but it's jut how it is.
