Problem is social media sites have been copying each other for decades. You can’t really patent posting words!

A filthy company takes legal action over another filthy company, I don't side with either one.

(But if I had to, I'd side with Zuck as they really did nothing wrong in this specific context)

                  You clearly are

"The reason those facilities exist is to suck more hours and profit out of workers by keeping them on-site. "

Those facilities exist to entice workers to stay more, but they can't force them to stay past their shift without overtime pay. With the whole remote work option, those facilties are being wasted since all those expenses such as yoga rooms, food, electricity, etc are not being used properly.

As a business, you need to be able to manage expenses. If workers are staying at home and not using those facilities, then you want to enforce a no remote work rule. If workers aren't productive and aren't needed, there is no need to keep them. He did fire a lot more than should've but that wasn't a wrong move business wise.

"Because more hours spent in the office from early morning to late at night is better than having them work humane hours that allow for socialising and family time."

Of course you have no idea how businesses work. If they stay at home or at the office, they still get paid overtime for working extra hours than they should. The difference here is that facilities aren't being used but still costing the business to run them.

IF what Elon said is true and most of the workers he fired were not doing much work, being unproductive, then firing them is a good move on him. Why keep workers who barely do any work?

Unless the workers are exempt workers, then he would have to pay them overtime by law if they stay longer than they have to.

Anonymous, 07 Jul 2023And what exactly was Musk expecting? If you fire 90% of your workforce, they're gonna go ... moreMost of the Twitter employees barely did anything before he fired them who apparently got paid really well. That was a smart move than paying employees who do barely any work and don't even use the facilities at the office.

I saw a video of an employee who posted about their day before Elon took it over. They had Google-like facilities that were not used since everyone just wanted to work from home.

Elon definitely fired way too much, but it was better than having a wasted HQ building if what I saw from that tiktok was true. Most of the day was spent enjoying the facilities.
