Same issue from touchwiz days.
This is lack of competence, not amount of functions.
More fuctions do not make SoC slower.

You can already do this using SamSprung and CoverScreen OS on the Flip 3s and 4s. Motorola is still doing this far better since no Samsprung and CoverScreen OS required. Their cover displays dating back to the Razr 2019 are big enough to use most apps on the cover display.
Most people will still end up flipping open these flip phones. I can't browse the web or use Dasher from a square. Apps are built mostly in portrait mode.

Way less efficient because of that. Not gonna mention all non optimised app support because of the punch holes. This one is way better

I sincerely hope in a few years' time that these outer screens will end up having under display cameras and either put the flash in one of the bezels or just remove it altogether. If they choose option 2, the screen itself could illuminate the area, acting as the flash. It would certainly be brighter.

I still like the Motorola outer screen better, it looks more premium while this looks more or less of a quick solution "because we had to deal with the camera's somehow".

The Motorola Razr 40 Ultra's screen is still far bigger and far more useful. Not attacking Samsung, just pointing out that the weird shape of the outer screen is not doing them any favours.
