I see the utility for a F... moreThe cover screen is a mini phone, people who want to use a 3 inch screen just to reply to a whatsapp message, check notifications,time, weather even maps can use the cover screen without opening into massive unwieldy 6.8 inch screen. Also the cover screen uses less battery and helps to take better selfies.

Even modern TV shows post-2000s, the aspect ratio is 16:9 or even wider than that. That's why some don't like the Oppo Find N's very close to a square aspect ratio. Too much black bars at the top and bottom.
I'm aware of all of this because I watch videos from the cover displays of my Razr 5G and Flip 3. The Flip 3's is actually better for widescreen but it's tiny. The Razr 5G is closer to 4:3. Perfect for classic sitcoms.
The Razr 40 Ultra's is perfect for 4:3 content like TV shows and retro games prior to the 2000s. There are some PS2 and GameCube games in that wider aspect ratio but most are still 4:3.

The best outer displays for foldables comes from the book-style like the Find N and Pixel Fold. It's like using it like a slab. No need to keep opening it. You just need to put up with the higher price and weight.
Try typing from a square-shaped cover display. The keyboard will take up most of the screen because on a slab, it will take up like the bottom half of the display. Phone apps are not built for a square format. You either view a rectangle horizontally or vertically. Not a square.
