As I type from my ZFold flip phone 4 I love it everything about it. Definitely an investment just take care of it and be mindful that you have a flip phone I also have an iPhone so don't try to bash me.

The best thing is that you don't put that phone in the water. I like the folding ones, but I still don't see them at a fair price with the right quality.

A trip to the beach resulted in a fine sand particle getting under my screen, and a month later it pierced the display needing the internal screen to be replaced. It's a great phone otherwise.

Imran6, 08 Jun 2023This is like asking if your health insurance will cover a deliberate self inflicted injuryMan if i bury the phone in sand my self or get a dust damage by accident over time it does not matter its the same example.
In other words in case of dust Technician could not tell wheter the damage was done by my self or it was an accident.
In case of water damage is something else because there are some things which can show the phone was exposed to liquid.

Anyway IP53 or 58 Phone is just dust resistant not a dustproof.
Like many else phones are water resistant not a waterproof.
Its no submarine where the device can stay in water for indifinetely ammount of time.
            Is that simple.

So in other words any waterproof or dustproof case will do a lot more job cheaper compared to IPXX rating which is not included in warranty and once your phone is exposed to water or dust you have to pay your repair because your warranty is useless in case like this.

The dust takes time to work it's way through to the back of the phone.

If for example i bury my phone in sand desert and gets damaged will they fix t for free??? Of course not.
Whole IP rating is nothing but expensive gimmick.
Any water or dust proof case will do a lot better job cheaper.
No need for overpriced garbage like resistance which is not covered by warranty like this.

Even before this dust rating come out, they already were technically dust resistant. There were brushes to brush the dust away. Zack Nelson (jerryrigeverything) even tried putting dust on the screen of a Fold4 and very little dust entered the hinges, so little I don't think you'd realise it...
