Try something like Skyline switch Emulator and Max resolution.

Linux works just fine without a lot of weirdness, tumbleweed OS has everything you want people are just not used to it and don't know how you modern operating system should work
therefore has its own Linux Microsoft has made Azure Linux generally available. Repeat, Azure Linux

But arm is like a million times more efficient than x86. Once arm improves scalability and make a5x out of order types and a proper gpu it will leave x86 in the dust
KondriX, 29 May 2023And? Can these processors run a full-fledged desktop OS? Can they run Doom, Tomb Raider, Crysi... moreImagine if x86 had come out, and people said it was complete trash because it couldn't run their apps. Like nah bro. You don't complain about that, you advocate for development for these devices. ARM is just a few years away from being fully ready for the windows desktop. That comment is gonna look really silly soon. I just can't understand why someone would just completely ignore how ridiculously efficient and powerful ARM is. So, right now x86 is faster. However, it seems abundantly clear that ARM at 11 watts is far more powerful than 11% of a 100 watt x86 CPU. That alone makes your claim of ARM not being suitable for the desktop ridiculous. It doesn't mean that ARM is only for mobile devices, that's not how power efficiency works. You scale it up for the application. A future ARM processor scaled to 100 watts is going to be ludicrously fast.

KondriX, 29 May 2023And? Can these processors run a full-fledged desktop OS? Can they run Doom, Tomb Raider, Crysi... moreYes they can, they can run Windows 11 no problem, Microsoft already has emulation tools and everything and many companies selling tablets with windows 11 which are running on ARM. Also Apple runs all their laptops on ARM :) ARM can run any game you would imagine Doom, GTA 5 and anyone you would mention, if they would be build on ARM processors, problem here is Windows 11 is built on x86 like all Windows OS and all games are built on x86, ARM as the heavy processing platform is only in its infantry, but by the looks of it future sounds like belongs to ARM, all the mobile sector sooner or later will switch to ARM just because of the insane efficiency.
KondriX, 29 May 2023My point is that even with this much power mobile games are still crap, even if on paper they ... moreYes mobile games are crap and are not in a slightest way comparible to proper console games, though processing power wise, flagship phones are as fast as gaming laptops. Problems is mobile gaming market is for casuals and for gambling adddicts, this formula works perfectly fine and you no need to make games which are to complex, you need to make them simple and accessible elanytime cover it by paywalls and that's how mobile market makes millions and no one will change this formula as long as it makes millions. Console games are for proper gamers, where you have to have complex game to satisfy consumer, as here we talking about not casual gamers, but people who get games for experience not for gambling kicks.
rizki1, 29 May 2023Also it is much more power efficient and doesn't require as many fan like Gaming laptop. ... moreYou absolutely right M3 mostly destroys intel top chips well I doubt it's faster than i9 13900k should not be but it should probably be like i5 13600k depending on variation, though it is like 7 times more efficient. That's the main reason Apple ditches Intel, as performance wise ARM is already closing the gab with x86 while doing that many times more efficiently.

While progress should continue, I think there are other areas which should be concentrated on, like audio quality, battery endurance and so on.
Anonymous, 29 May 2023At this point, iphone SE3 for exemple should last more than 2x compared to iphone 6 doing same... more1) Did Apple promise that iPhone SE (2022) would last more than twice compared to iPhone 6 doing same tasks (if we assume they could actually perform the very same tasks down to single byte of executable code)? I don't think so.
2) Battery life doesn't depend only on SoC, other main power consumers are display and mobile network usage, thus changing only the SoC will rarely make a dramatic change in overall power consumption, though it can be noticeable.
3) No sane person would say that you can/should take corporations (or anybody at all) at their word. But your comment was far cry from an example of proper critical thinking.
blue, 29 May 2023They certainly are not.Of course they are, do you know what geekbench 6 is? Do you know how to use it? Run on iPhone 14 max pro or any Android phone with 8 gen 2 and run it on your shitty laptop, compare the score, when comeback again to me to cry how shitty your laptop is :)

KondriX, 29 May 2023And? Can these processors run a full-fledged desktop OS? Can they run Doom, Tomb Raider, Crysi... morethey can, it's just the developers making it happen. Have you seen War Thunder, The Division etc? these games are coming to mobile and the graphics are not far from PC.
the game you said is a story based game where the developer doesn't want to make it on mobile maybe because it's very easy to pirate.

This is A17 level stuff...
Single core power difference will only be 10% difference between 8 Gen 3 vs A17.
Multi core power difference will only be 4% between the 8 Gen 3 vs A17...
According to leaked Geek bench results.
Basically... Droid is right actually on apples toes.
Obviously the GPU's will fly past apple Silicon.
Conclusion: Droid is actually the much better SoC to go for. Droid is making by far the biggest strides forward yet.
Got a feeling that mediatek might overtake Qualcomm... Which would surpass the A17.

In 4 years, efficiency would be 2x.
