Intel joins to the ARM architecture. It means, intel can build their new ARM CPUs with intel iris graphics on top. This is an exciting who's smartphone made on it.

As SuperSpruce said, "You're confusing exponential decay with exponential growth. 20% less power draw is talking about exponential decay."
If it was "20% more power" each year, then yes, on 11th gen it would be 6.1917 times more powerful than 1st gen - because you keep multuplying by 1.2;
But we talked about "20% less power consumption", so we multiply by 0.8 each gen. So, on 11th gen it would be 89.26% less power consumption than 1st gen.
And that's where we should remember that in the real world nobody even promises "20% less power consumption" every year, at least because that alone, without performance increase, isn't marketable.
So, ppl here demand more power because games?
So futile ...
No wonder these SoC cost way over $100, gonna get even worse when the 3nm gets applied to snapdragon. Tsmc is gonna charge way more compared to 4nm. Prediction is 100% price increase
Hemedans, 29 May 2023The good thing here A720 use same space as A78 while give more perfomance, so market will move... moreThis A720 will use N4P or N3 which is perhaps in high demand
The SD 695 use old technic and the machine kind of idling
So, 695 will stay for a while more until perhaps mid-range A720 fill the production in N6

How about we wait to see how actual performance fairs once devices featuring both these new Arm designs and the (still only a rumour at this point in time) Apple A17 hit the market yeah.
Oh and when did ‘Droid’ suddenly become an SoC?… 🤷
Carol, 29 May 2023And all of this while iphones battery life is avarage at best...What? Sorry, but come again? Average? Have you look at their battery size? Good, now compare it with your favorite oh so "green" and "Europian" brand HMD Global Nokia or any other Android phone using a flagship chipset. Sorry for being sarcastic with my comment, but dude, you're stuck in 2017. if you think iPhone's battery is average.
The good thing here A720 use same space as A78 while give more perfomance, so market will move from A78 to A720, no more sd 695, D900, Sd 778G etc.

Anonymous, 29 May 2023No you are wrong. CPU at a 100%, GPU at 50%. GPU is the bottleneck. Why is it so hard to under... moreYou seem to think that you know better, actually the GPU and CPU are inside the same Chip, so yeah, they both need to be cooled down. I do not know for 100% how Android games use the hardware but am pretty sure that the 100% cpu 50% GPU is something you invented on spot, cause GPUs are way more important for a game, no matter what platform. So is more like 70% GPU 30% CPU, no matter what platform. The CPU is not and will never be responsible for graphics/ image rendering, that should already be enough to tell the story.

The device can't use the GPU at 100%, because it will heat up miserably.
The SOC if use in a tablet or notebook will be faster because it can use a better heat sink.
Thus, the bottleneck is *NOT* in SOC/GPU design, but on the mobile device small footprint.

Anonymous, 29 May 2023At this point, iphone SE3 for exemple should last more than 2x compared to iphone 6 doing same... moreiPhone SE 2 already lasts 2x longer than iPhone 7 doing heavy tasks (own experience). For example, iPhone 7 gets hot and chugs battery when updating apps, whereas SE 2 gets barely warm and battery does not really drop much if at all. So iPhone SE 3 will probably last 3x as long as iPhone 6. Or it would if it was capable of running iOS 16.
