I did comparison between phones with Google Services & one with no Google Services Preinstalled both running Stock LineageOS with no root/magisk or whatever tweaks.

The one with no Google Services can last 3-4 maybe 5 days before it requires charge while the other only 1 - 2 days with same usage calling, texting, browsing, etc both on normal standby during night time. Meaning Google constantly runs/sending data & drains battery even on standby.

Monitored both using some IP Monitoring Tool, definitely Google constantly sends data even when phone on standby while the other with no Preinstalled Google Services 0 data sent.

Yet for most there are better alternatives. In many markets everything else can be installed from alternative stores and distribution systems.

I love how people here keep saying it’s a great deal even without 5G and Google services because of the cameras. What the hell do you guys do, shoot weddings with a phone?! These are phones with a very high price tag that make a lot of compromises and that’s a fact! There are phones just as good on the market, they just don’t make sense outside of China (hell, they don’t make much sense in China either). And this comes from a guy that had a P10, P20 and still has a P30 Pro, which is still doing it’s job. Downvoting here became ridiculous, it’s just a bunch of fanboys going ape when someone says something bad about Huawei.

                      mmwave is a failure.

The GSMA (gsm association) have concluded that 6Ghz 5G is the answer, not mmWave..... What is USA reaction..... Finalize WiFi 6E, so 6Ghz can't be use for 5G.... Very clever move to destroy 6ghz 5G

But china and some part of the world will use 6ghz 5G in 2023 onward

Many people in China support Huawei but a lot are not willing to sacrifice 5g. If they had no 5g restrictions their sales would be a lot higher. I'm in China and I definitely wouldn't get a phone without 5g. 30gb of 5g data costs around $15 a month so I have it on the whole time whilst outside my home or office. It is definitely better than 4g in China at least. I also didn't say it was a deal breaker for everyone but it is for many in China.

Plus it has a very volatile coverage that's not any near as reliable as 4G.

Here in Slovakia P60 pro is from 1199 euros.
Expensive maybe but still you get the best camera phone on the market along with Xiaomi MI 13 ultra.
Since it comes wthout google services its a win win phone (Harmony uis just better)
And 4G is not a problem since many people in slovakia using wifi at home which is way faster than 4G LTE network.

They have 8 or 10 hours work, 3 hours commute every day
If they rent wifi at home, no one use it
And in asia, a 80m2 2 bedroom government apartment might just around $80-100/month.
An unlimited 4G/5G data might be just around $20, extra wifi might cost $20 more.

Lack of google crap does not make a phone worse. Quality wise they are still good and way better than Vivo or Oneplus. Huawei devices work as advertised without idiotic quirks and gimmicky features that Samsung likes so much. The only bad thing I can say is that they are starting to incessantly push their own services and some of it are utter bull$#@^@. There was no need to turn the music and video apps into a spotify and youtube competitor respectively. I'm extremely happy with my P40 Pro and won't replace it until the battery dies in it, replacement would be an option but i want the ingress protection.

I am not surprised its huawei one of best brands and best cameras brand on the market.
Competition as always can go nuts.
Google services or no Harmony always better and for those who really wants google services there is a Gbox app within Huawei App Galery which installs fully functional googple play services over harmoyn with all google apps perfectly working.
