AnonD-1078988, 28 May 2023Stop spreading misconception and misinformation. No electronics gets damaged when it heats up ... moreah yes, "misconception and misinformation" at it's finest.
even with logic, common sense and undeniable fact tell that heat degrade battery life.
and here you are, not only rudely declaring someone as liar, you also compare it with your pc component to justify your claim, in smartphone discussion, which is not making sense at all.
Anonymous, 28 May 2023This makes no sense. No one's comparing online sports with outdoor sports. This isn'... moreThe game never got ban because of parents asking the government to ban it.
Try doing research and then comment.
Government showed multiple reasons to ban that game.
Those kid who wanted to play still played tthose banned games using vpn.
Even New State by krafton was available during this ban time which provides almost same experience like PUBG and BGMI.
BGMI era is over and reason is craze is down globally.
Well kids will play even at age 35 as they have nothing else to do in their life as india is filled with millions of graduates, engineers, mba holders, upsc, ssc and neet aspirents.
Those who have time to spend will spent on those nonsense as some of them can't sell potato or tea.
All the best to them.
kevvv, 29 May 2023I'm not actually talking about heat from the phone. I'm actually talking about heat ... moreYes of course, because it's clear common sense to play 'mobile games' outside under direct sunlight during extreme heat. You have a great understanding, keep it up, please keep sharing your great knowledge to everyone
AnonD-1078988, 28 May 2023Stop spreading misconception and misinformation. No electronics gets damaged when it heats up ... moreFirst of all I'm not saying that it will get damaged. It will only shorten its life or age, not degrades the performance over time, just like a car tire that is often used on bad roads vs. car tires that are used on normal asphalt roads. Sure the device will drop the performance everytime it's start heating up, but the temperature won't immediately return to normal if you don't move your phone to a place with a normal temperature place, because I'm actually talking about heat from the extreme weather itself, especially if you play in direct sunlight.

kevvv, 28 May 2023Uhmm akchually... Since you mention "extreme weather", playing heavy games for too l... moreStop spreading misconception and misinformation. No electronics gets damaged when it heats up under normal load, there are so many safeguards in place that it's practically impossible to damage a device under normal loads. When devices get heat up during games, they turn down performance, lower the screen brightness etc to cool down, it's called throttling.
So even if you play game at full brightness and highest setting under direct sunlight, device will lower the brightness and fps will drop, nothing else will happen.
I used to own a gtx 480 graphics card and if you know about fermi cards, they almost always ran near 95°c and the card never lost any performance in its 5 years of my ownership, I sold it afterwards.

This isn't a "this vs that" situation. That being said, let the kids play videogames without asking for it to be banned all the time, just because some angry kid broke their parents phone and now their parents are asking for the game to be banned for everyone
Evening Star, 27 May 2023Why was it banned? Cz they denied to pay for election campaign. That's probably why .
"Google Play Store and Apple App Store way back in the day due to security concerns and violence-related reasons." Not sure where u saw "mass shootings" in the article. The violence related reasons they are talking about was the incident that occurred when a kid accidentally killed his mother when he was told to stop playing the game.

There was no mention of mass shootings as the cause of the ban. The fear of violence, yes, but an actual mass shooting never occurred in india

Since you mention "extreme weather", playing heavy games for too long in extreme weather also doesn't have a good effect on your phone, because that will only make your phone heat up quickly and shorten its life, doesn't matter what kind of phone it is from any brand 🤓 unless you buy an additional cooling system, but I rarely see people doing it here.
